dale10 I agree, I was embarassed to be wearing purple and gold last night. Not because of the score or stats, but because they are booing our players, hell, this is LSU we curse Tim Tebow and Steve Spurrier when they go up by a touchdown in tiger stadium, we take over other teams stadiums and tiger bait them in huge numbers like we are in Baton Rouge, Thats being a fan. Booing our own players is very disrepectful. Next time stay at home assholes!

As for Lee's play i know it wasnt the best. Alot of incompletions came as a result of poor communication Lee was throwing to spots not actually to a reciever. On several occassions the ball was already in the air before the receiver made his cut and the all was thrown the opposite way than the reciever cut. Either the receiver ran the wrong route or Lee needs to study his play book. The two deep balls that he threw in the second half back to back were thrown where noone but our receiver could get to it. The second was pefectly thrown had we not been held, a call that these officials didn't miss, wouldve been a touchdown. But since alot of you want to talk stats and what happend last year Lsu scored 30.9 points a game LSU adveraged 201 yards passing per game and 21 passing touchdowns. Lee was 143-269 for 1,873 yards. This year we are only scoring 25 points per game an adverage of 173.2 yards passing per game and 14 passing touchdowns. JJ is 133-210 1,535 yards. Difference is that freshman quarterback Jarret Lee threw 16 intercepions and JJ has thrown 4 and JJ has already been sacked 27 times and the Quarterbacks in all of last year were only sacked 22 times. Don't look like JJ is gonna equal those stats posted by Lee last year. Sure Lee hurt us by throwing interceptions but obviously he has alot of potential and those mistakes can be corrected, and since we are judging everyone by stats it looks like Lee can throw the ball better than JJ! BTW did anyone see the Louisiana Tech/Boise State game? As ridiculous as it is Isnt Boise State ranked in the top 5?

You must have just signed on to the Rant. Welcome to the third dimension - a place where Jefferson is blamed for Lee's problems.

Just saying, everybodys talking stats like that is what wins games. I would love nothing more than for either Lee or JJ have an outstanding season but to put down on Lee for playing hard and to have to listen to several thousand fans boo our own players is unforgivable. Its pathetic!

He can't run the offense with fluidity. It'd be different if he was 7/22 with a little over 100passing yards against Florida or Alabama, but against La Tech I expected much better.

the defense held an opponent with a bad defense to 16 points, that is beyond well enough to win the game

Dude there is no use in arguing with these people. Why they seem to show so much comtempt for JJ is beyond me. JL has proven that he can run the offense properly, he has all the skills to be great, but he lacks leadership, when he makes one mistake, it's all over. He lacks confidence and he needs to mature, usually I'd be all up for letting him play and mature, but JJ has shown such vast improvements that I don't see how one can argue that JL should be put in his place

he has regressed as a passer and no longer does this. He's aiming the ball when receivers are wide open, almost getting tolliver killed. He's missing wide open receivers for touchdowns. I was a huge JL supporter last year, but he brings nothing to the table that JJ (who has improved) doesn't.

we have to have the rushing game in order before j.lee passes...

7 for 22 when they were prepping him all week is ridiculous - against louisiana tech no less

i watched louisiana tech - hawaii and tech - boise state and i'm impressed with bulldogs... against the warriors the defensive backs were absolute headhunters - however there is no way j.lee should have made them look so good last night

to paraphrase bull durham - million-dollar arm and a 10 cent head... he stills throws that wide receiver screen terribly

Les Miles has chosen JJ as the starter...so back him. Startshepard is not about making him the quarterback, it's about playing his arse because he is too talented not to

He protected the ball. Those of you saying he hasnt improved at all, isnt that an improvement? He also didnt just take the sack, he threw the ball away when necessary. No who didnt light the sky up and throw for 300 but he didnt give the other team the ball or spot the other team 7 points which is an improvement from last season. He did nothing to cost us the game but didnt do much to help win it. Shouldnt that be the correct analysis from this game?

Sounds like an analysis of every important game that Jordan Jefferson has played in.

And, people are praising him.

This.

Maybe, and should be, one of the easiest throws to make.

1) Receive ball from center (in the shotgun)
2) Face receiver with the intent to throw.
3) Hit motionless receiver so he can do his thing.

Lee can't do this, and proved it last night.

For all you Lee lovers, how is it the coaches fault for this? I realize play calling was terrible, but this is basic shite that play calling has nothing to do with.
