I'm worried thaT he might get injured but not at all worried about his play. Hopeing the coaches let him loose soon because this game plan is not going to work against the big boys in the SEC.

Nope. Even though, I give the kid credit for sticking around; I still don't want to see him. I would rather see Russell Shepard as a back-up. I

i feel confident we have Lee as a backup.

however we stuck to our guns last year when Lee struggled and i expect we give Jefferson the same courtesy.

i think if they ALLOWED him to throw the ball deep

First, he did, and missed badly

Second, I think more downfield throws=more INTs. I thought he threw a decent deep ball in HS, but has not even been close so far.

Lets keep this up and pound UGA and UF with the deep ball when they start putting 7-8 in the box to stop us. No need to do it now. Its just crowd pleasing right now.

Those teams will have all 11 w/in 10 yards of the los since we have not proven the ability to throw down field.

Worried? We are 2-0 against two good teams.

Vandy has a very good pass d and were dropping there safties and corners to shut down the long ball. we took advantage of what they gave us.

JJ doesn't make the mistakes that kill you.

i am worried

i dont understand the concept of holding back the playbook. the only way he will improve at passing down the field is to actually.....pass down the field.

i dont think anyone would debate the fact that we will have to be able to throw down the field and be more explosive on offense to win against the better teams on our schedule.

he needs to be given the chance to do it, actually do it, and gain confidence from being able to be successful

im not a Lee hater, but do yall think we throw the ball downfield more just by putting in Lee? Because it sounds like the only knock on Jefferson is that he doesnt have many yards, but isnt that mostly up to the coaching staff? So what would change by putting Lee in? Jefferson has 3 consecutive wins under his belt. It's hard to develop 2 quarterbacks at once.

Easier throws when safeties lurk close to the line.

No way, Jordan Jefferson has not played poorly. He has protected the football well and you can't say the same for Jarret Lee. Jefferson is going to continue to grow into a great QB

JJ missed throwing deep multiple times. Theres a reason we arent going deep with him.

I promise you that the coaching staff was not asking Lee to throw interceptions last year. So I'm not sure how to answer this question.

True JL was asked to come in and win the game, but he still didnt make smart decisions...tough situation though

First the tv commentators said Vandy dropped their Db's back to stop the long ball.

Second Jl threw pick sixes on short passes (Aub.,
first int GA).

JJ's play has been vastley superior to that of jl
and he can run. and it was pouring down raining last night.

Remember the coaches started Hatch over Lee.

Furthermore, JJ completed a long pass for a td in the chick bowl, that was called back,so jj has the ability.

My biggest problem with JJ is that he is too quick to exit the pocket and run, or dump the ball off instead of going through progressions and finding a reciever downfield. He is young, and it can be corrected. In the meantime, LSU's passing options will be 5 yard passes to the WR's and hoping they run like hell after the catch. Vertical passing game is nil.

Nothing that cannot be fixed, but while fixing the offense will be very limited. There may be few interceptions but there will be few big plays.

So the average LSU armchair QB wants:

JJ for a series
Shep for a series
JL for a series

Some of us around here obviously have no idea how important it is for players and the team as a whole to get into a rhythm.
