I keep hearing that LSU hasn't really played anyone yet. Despite playing #25 miss St....#18 Auburn...#8 Florida. Now I can see the argument against the first 2 teams however they were ranked at the time we played them. But no excuse can be made for Florida, they were a solid team. Now let's look at the top 3 teams according to coaches poll and 3 of top 4 in Ap polls.

Ohio St.
TCU
Baylor

All 3 have played a combined.....Zero ranked teams.

Utah has played 2 ranked teams and Michigan and won all 3. So I'll give them credit for now.

Now I know the polls only matter at the end and if we keep winning we are in, but it gets old hearing this crap when we have already played more ranked opponents than these other cats will play all year.

I'm not arguing your point and UF will be ranked at the end and maybe State, but Auburn is doubtful.

Ohio St is putting it together, Baylor hasn't played anyone but their offense hasn't been slowed down by anyone either and the defense plays better than you'd think. TCU has either looked like the top team in the country or a middle of the road 10-15ish team depending on the week.

Ohio State is now about to start JT Barrett so their biggest problem will be over.

Baylor is even more explosive than ever before and they only play one good defense all year in Okie State.

TCU is going to fall at some point. Reminds me of Johnny Manziel's second year TAMU team. He dominated on the stat sheet, but that defense was beyond horrible, and he played SEC defenses which is why they lost 4 times.

Miss St will likely finish 8-4 and ranked somewhere in the top 25.

OSU plays UM and MSU. If OSU wins out, they earn a place in the top 4. TCU plays Baylor; one will drop out of the top 4. Utah has to go through USC and UCLA (Yeah, I know. It's the PAC.. The Utes won't get left out.)

Either TCU or Baylor will fall out of the top 4. If LSU wins out, we'll be in.

Do we have to win out? No; this is CFB. The only poll that matters is the last poll.

We have a very good team and the front runner for the Heisman. Enjoy the madness.

Now that Urban has awakened from his coma and named Barrett the starter, Ohio State is gonna be scary good.

Baylor on the other hand is questionable at best. Yes, the Bears score an incredible amount of points, but they play a glorified high school schedule. Their defense is horrible and the defenses they play are worse. Each week is little more than an extended practice session.

I hope we make it and play them first. Fournette will run for 300+ and LSU will beat the snot out of them.

The Big 12's ranked teams all play each other the last four weeks. Let them build a good record on the scrubs, then they go at it.

And we've got four more ranked teams to go... Assuming SEC CG... That will make 7 which is our normal fare.

I hope that the Playoff Committee can do as they advertised a year ago that they would and look at a true body of work and not just rely on the eyeball test. LSU and Utah are the only teams in that top 5 grouping who have quality wins over ranked opponents and are undefeated. At the end of the season, Baylor, TCU, and OSU will have only played at most 3 ranked teams while LSU and Utah will have played at least 5. LSU will actually have played as many as 7 if the current schedule holds and they win the SEC West. The 2 polls obviously don't give 2 hard craps about this as they seem to take more a fashion show approach to voting. At some point, if this "resume" doesn't count for anything and if this doesn't provide a major advantage and not a major factor in the eyes of the committee, Then we should continue to schedule whoever the hell we want(like Baylor does) in non-conference and make no changes to what the SEC currently requires.
