And put Reaves in? Next you'll be yelling when he's marginally better at the plate but makes 2 errors a game

Milam obviously has a lot to work on in the offseason, but we’ve already seen that he is capable of hitting well in the SEC and in clutch situations. You don’t dump him after a sophomore slump and throw money at a portal SS who likely won’t be as good. Get him back on track and work on finding the next young infielder who will take the job after he’s moved on.
Go get the best SS for next year period. If it’s him that’s fine but if you have the option to upgrade you do it. We’re losing Dickinson so he can move back to 2nd. He’s not fricking Ozzie Smith.

I would take a more productive SS and move Milam back to 2B if it meant we got a beast in the portal
What? The problem with Milam is his bat right now. Moving him to another position doesn’t nothing to fix the problem, plus he’s a wonderful defensive shortstop.

When the coach lets it be known to the entire nation that he doesn't give a shite about the game, its easy to see why some players have a bad day.
There is a lot to be said about a coach who fires up his team and a coach who doesn't give a shite.
Right or wrong the attitude of the coach has a lot to do about how players play.

Forget this change. We have to play Josh Pearson. Sit Stanfield. Put Curiel in center and Pearson in left and Brown in right. Pearson needs to play every day.
Move Jones down to 6-7 in the lineup.

I like Curiel, Dickinson, Frey, Pearson, Jones, Brown, Hernandez, Milam and Braswell. Curiel, Dickinson, Brown, Jones, Pearson, Hernandez, Milam and Braswell.

Who are all those guys on the bench? Are they there just to take up a seat on the team bus?

You’re going to have a much easier time finding a starting 2nd baseman than a SS who is better defensively than Milam and won’t cost you your entire fricking NIL budget for the offseason. Some of you act like SSs grow on trees.
We will also have a lot of other needs this offseason. If Reeves doesn’t improve fast, we may need a new 3rd Baseman. And we will already be moving someone else into Bear’s spot on 1st. We are obviously losing Anderson, Eyanson, Shores and likely Mayers, as well. Even with us having some talented young arms, a chunk of our NIL will likely be spent shoring up the staff.
If we can somehow find an elite defensive SS who doesn’t cost a ton, awesome. But I think you are fooling yourselves if you believe that will be a top priority with Milam having this year’s experience and with all of the other needs we have going into next season.

I pretty clearly said if he’s the best you can get that’s fine but if you have the OPTION to upgrade you do it. And as far as SS’s growing on trees he’s pretty average at best compared to SEC shortstops. LSU can do better than him at SS.

Most of them are heading to the draft. If he trends back toward his batting average from last year next season, he can easily be a top 3 SS in the SEC.
Your argument just doesn’t make that much sense. With all we have to replace, Milam is already going to be taking a spot in the infield next season. If that’s the case, it doesn’t make a ton of sense to move him when he’s already been elite at SS defensively. If you can’t acknowledge that he has been, then you just don’t understand the value of defense in baseball and how well he’s played the position.

And another dumbass. Figure if I tag and respond, we can make a “dumb frick of the baseball season” award

IF…if IF were a skiff we’d all be sailors. IF he improved on his offensive stats from last year we wouldn’t be having this conversation. IF you don’t understand that you must not understand baseball.

Move him back to 2nd, less pressure to be perfect in the field may take pressure off plate

Love the guy— he’s got that 800lb Gorilla Sophmore Slump. Awesome fielder— hopefully he finds his timing this coming weekend.

You mean the guys who haven’t played ss all year? Those guys? Yea let’s plug a new ss in who hasn’t played all year in game 1 of regionals.
Some of you fricks just astonish me with your stupidity.

You cant sit the best SS in the business....no matter what.

You act like he’s some outlier this season and the only one on this roster who’s off their pace from last year when in reality, that list also includes Bear, Braswell and Larson, who fell off so much he’s now a rarely used PH. Pearson hasn’t improved. Brown can’t touch an average LHP. Improvement at the plate is something needed across the roster.

Nope all I’m saying is if you can upgrade you do. He’s far from the best offensive SS in SEC and he’s not the even the best returning defensive SS in the SEC. LSU is a top program in a sport most don’t care about. They’ll have a shot at the best SS’s available in 2026. All I’m saying is if you can get someone better you do it. Milan can compete with them and if he cant win the job he can move back to 2nd.
