I’m predicting we jump up to 13. We should be higher ranked but the voters will keep the undefeated and 1-loss B12 teams ranked artificially high regardless of their weak schedules.
Notre Dame also figures in that mix. The fanboy voters always give them a pass year after year. This year their schedule is exceptionally weak., Yet, once again they are in the top 5 as a one-loss team. The only real test they have left is against Miami. Even if Miami smokes them the voters will keep them ranked high enough to make it into the playoffs.
UCLA is going to stay ranked pretty high. Somehow, they managed to give themselves the absolute easiest schedule of any B10 team this year. So, expect them to win out. In fact, in the heart of the season, they have a non-conference game against the Mountain West powerhouse Nevada this coming weekend.
Ole Miss and Kentucky rank ahead of us due to our losses to them. Alabama, Tennessee and Texas also get ranked ahead of us due to either record or style points
Thirteen isn’t such a bad place to be. If we win out then we will finish in the top 5 or 6 and go to the CFP. In that case ranking may have some bearing on seeding. If we don’t win out then the ranking won’t mean anything because we won’t be invited to the dance.
