The one to Bowe wasn't really his fault. Bowe was open and he threw the ball perfectly. Was it a tough catch? - Sure. Could/Should the play have been made? - Definitely.

Even on top of that, it was bad luck that the ball popped up high enough for someone to intercept it instead of just falling to the ground.

Oh yeah, you might fault him with an imperfect throw, but it is absurd to blame him for that pick.

are you talking about the one where he threw way behind Bowe at the goal line, or the one he threw way late and Bowe got his clock cleaned by Nelson?

That was Lafell, BTW.

Either way, how is it JR's fault that a ball deflects off of receiver's hands to the D.

Was that pick against Auburn this past year Flynn's fault?

Helms later admitted that was his fault.

Taking one for the team.

Two off of his receiver's hands. Not his fault.
There is no way to pin that loss on JR.

He's was QB. Perhaps he shouldn't have tried to play dodgeball with his WRs.

Or was the Tebow pick against us his fault because he threw a good pass but his receiver wasn't paying attention and it bounced off his head into our defender's hands?

It went right into his hands. He wasn't playing "dodgeball".

Doesn't make it not true.

You can even see it on the replay. Helms never gets the ball to JR.

So those balls he threw were noticeably harder thrown than the other balls he threw them over the course of the season?

That was always a knock on him, throws too hard & lacked touch.

if it's a shitty pass, then it's the QB's fault. there was no way Bowe was catching that ball at the goal line. You might can blame Bowe for going up and getting a hand on it.

no, because the ball was easily catchable and there wasn't a d-back blowing Lafell up the instant the ball hit his hands

I'm not making a Flynn vs. Russell argument here, just analyzing each play on its own merit...

Bowe didn't drop it because it was thrown too hard - he dropped it because he got hit.

WRs get hit by DBs all the time. That shouldn't be JR's fault. Its part of running a crossing route.

the ball was thrown too late which gave Nelson time to read Russell and blow the play up. I'm not letting Bowe totally off the hook, but you have to ultimately assign Russell the blame on that play.

You can assign Russell a late throw, but the deflection isn't Russell's

He put it in a spot where Bowe at least had a bit of chance, but no one else would grab it.

That is his job. The fact that it went off Bowe's hands is no fault of JR's

I thought for sure the ball was around Bowe's waist.

How are we making excuses?

I said the catch was tough, but definitely catchable. On top of that, it was very unlucky that the ball popped right into a UF player's hands.
