Show me where i said November didnt equal late last football season. He also said assuming they had the funds by december. I was clarifying that they had them by november. Thanks for playing.

Sorry, I misinterpreted you. But if you were clarifying about a misconception on November vs. December, but not about "late last football season," why quote the part about "late last football season," but not November vs. December? In other words, why quote a part of a post you aren't correcting while not quoting the part you are trying to correct?

i was never correcting him. i was agreeing with him that it was indeed late football season, however it was november not december.

either way it's 8 months later and no visible work has been done. bid processes do NOT take that long.

nope. they've had the funding since september and still havent started on the project.

The funding was for the North end windows. This is the same end that will be requiring scoreboard upgrade withing the next 2 years. Maybe they don't want to install thousands of dollars worth of windows in an area thats about to have a shite load of construction happening.

i dont even know what you are getting at. the north end scoreboard is the brand new one. and the scoreboard has nothing to do with the window project.

Those windows, the condition of the exterior facade and various other well known interior "Problems" in Tiger Stadium are a flat out embarrassment to the University.
Tell me about it. Every time I take tea at Tavern on the Green, and one chap asks me where I was educated, and I say "Louisiana State," the immediate response is always, "You mean that silly old place with the broken windows in the American football stadium? Pish posh!" as he laughs so hard that his monocle falls to the ground. It's goddamn embarrassing. I can't even sleep sometimes when I think about it.

To each his own. I actually like the name Ducks though. It is unique. However, I always felt we should be the Oregon Lumberjacks. It's unique and very relative to our state. Most people relate Oregon to hippies, granola eaters, etc. But outside of the Portland and the Eugene area, Oregon is littered with big heavy bearded, burly lumberjacks who drink beer darker than your coffee. If any of them had a lick of athleticism and not pure strength, I think we wouldn't have sucked so bad at football in the past.

First, I thought the south got renovated already.

Second, Just because the windows are not the scoreboard, doesn't mean one wouldn't effect the other. In the interview a few weeks ago, they said they were not even sure what they were going to do with the scoreboard and how it might even effect the structure. If they have no idea how it effects the structure yet, how can they say without question that the scoreboard renovation won't effect the windows. I personally wouldn't install new windows right before major construction within close proximity. Now if I have my endzones mixed up that blows my theory.

I'd like to see some more renovations to TS personally. They could definitely do a lot more on both the outside and interior. Always find it funny when they talk about expansion but within the stadium, the smallest things have gone unfixed for years. We're talking about projects that don't come close to digging in the pocket. Sprucing up the place adds flair. The little things will eventual equal a big change.

The state bid process takes about 2 months from the day a bid date is requested to the day bids are opened.

To simplify, this is what had to happen between November 1, 2010 and September 10, 2011:
Select an architect
Contract with an architect
Assemble bid documents (drawings, specifications, etc.)
Review bid documents
Request a bid date
Advertise for bids
Open bids
Review bids
Contract with selected bidder
Manufacture 500 new windows
Demo 500 existing windows
Ship 500 new windows
Install 500 new windows

Unique to the state. You will generally always have some professional/college/high school out there with the same name.
