They are putting that big arse HD scoreboard in one of the endzones so that would get in the way of an upper deck.

BS. There's no reason we shouldn't have the largest stadium in college football.

Why? Our fans only go to games if we blow everyone out and are undefeated!

I think a better idea would be to sell tickets to half-games so that fair weather fans don't have to pay for a full game, and those of us who can't afford to pay for a full game can see 2nd half comebacks :rimshot:

Read an article about the new west end and the contractor said that the north end zone upper deck couldnt be added because of stability issues but that LSU was planning a south end zone upper deck in the future

They can't to the north because the support structure would be right on top of north stadium drive.

What's wrong with having a drive-thru stadium?

If they add on anything other than suites, it'll be a waste of money.

i heard we have problems keeping fans there till half, so it will look even worse on tv now.

If what happened Saturday night doesn't fix that problem I don't know what will.

Yeah, right, Auburn and Florida last year weren't close at all.

There's room.
Streets and buildings can be moved.

the eventual plan is to close in the south endzone. I don't think it is possible to close in the north endzone, nor would I want that to happen. I like having atleast one endzone open.

Yep 10,000 seats * $60 a ticket * 8 games = $4,800,000. Huge waste.

Here we go again ....

Let's just keep going until every square inch of the campus has a tent, loud obnoxious music, and 30 drunks grab assing.

I'm not against tailgaiting, but overkill is just that it takes away the specialness of the whole thing.

Traffic? Ok, we'll all be leaving the game by the end of the 1st qtr to beat the traffic.

Stadium Expansion? Just Say Neaux!

According to the General, plans are already being made to add an upper south end that will connect the upper east and west sides. It will mostly be club level seating, which is the only way to pay for such an expansion. It will not drastically increase seating capacity. Somewhere around 100,000 if I remember correctly. We're talking within the next 5 years.

This will be the last major renovation to Tiger Stadium. There will never be an upper north end due to structural issues and blocking the street.

As a previous poster said north endzone won't happen because of what will start being installed after the ole miss game. That HUGE 80 ft x 23 ft HD Jumbotron/scoreboard. In the article on LSUsports.net it even says that there are plans for one in the south but not til other things are done if I remember correctly. Which the other things to be done would be adding an upper deck. And 10,000 more tickets wouldn't mean more tailgaters necessarily because how many of those people don't go to games because they don't have season tickets?

this is true, i have talked to people in the know. upper upper decks are much more feasible than enclosing both endzones.

Don't matter. As long as the seats are sold, they don't care who stays till the end. They have a demand for more club level seating and that's what we are going to get.
