If the Tigers were playing for a spot in a BCS type bowl, then burning this kids RS would make "a little" sense, but after last weekends debacle and with it being the last game of the season (not counting your bowl game) this is about the dumbest thing I have ever heard of in my life!

Miles is trading this kids 5th year at LSU for a few carries in two games, that in the grand scheme of things isn't going to dramatically change the outcome of your Tigers season.

Again, and I thought the way that your coaching staff conducted themselves in Oxfart at the end of the game was beyond belief, this move would blow those blunders out of the water!

there's a lot of truth in that.

so you want miles to play a quarterback at running back because what really matters right now is our RB roster for 2012. and what happens if Shep is hurt this way? Im sure everyone on the rant will back Miles up, say it was a solid plan to not play the running back at running back. playing the 180 pound quarterback at running back, that was the smart thing to do.

and trindon hasnt broken a tackle in 2 years. you peopel are delusional if you see something else.

When has Sheppard took a snap as a qb? I remember some direct snaps out the position like a RB right.........

Come on.........Shep's been most effective this year at RUNNING BACK..........but I won't doubt it now that I've read this........We will see Shep at qb with Ford in the backfield and run the option on saturday........

Seriously, making excuses for Shep because of his weight........The kid can play any skill position on the field if you want him too......

Agree. It's all risk and reward. Is back up duty in an attempt to establish a run game on a team that has not done so all year with 2 seasoned seniors, worth an entire year for one game?

Of course this is an important game, but if Ford playing or not is a deciding factor in winning or losing we've got even bigger problems than we think.

running from the QB spot and running all day from the RB spot are completely different. thats why Tim Crouch is sitting at home. its why Vick wont do it in Philly.

You do realize that Sheps longest runs have come out of the RB position right.

I could care less wether they burn his redshirt or not...that is why he is the coach (to take the heat if it fails and the praise if it works), but that said i wouldn't mind lining up chad jones at running back...i mean why not he has the size and good speed, lets see if maybe he can play another rols on this team if ridley needs some relief...i understand we have trindon but i don't think he is all that effective at running back, he gets tackled to easy, he just gets lucky sometimes and finds wide open field...for every 1 time he gets us 15+ yards there are 15 times he gets us -3-5 yards...as far as shep goes i think he is a great player but i think the reason his yards per touch are so good is b/c they use it smart, if he got more touches i think his numbers would drop drastically IMHO...

well there you go...flame away, i won't even duck, i'll take it like a man.

You should know by now that Saban and Miles can make the exact same decision and Saban is correct and Miles is a moron.

That would have been awesome if, because of the injuries, they'd lined up Chad Jones and had him run it smashmouth on the 32.

Well, it would only have been awesome if it worked. If it didn't, it would be unawesome and I'd blame Miles.

at least you didn't say or imply it's meaningless...like some of these gonads on here have. it's certainly one of the biggest games in Miles' tenure at LSU so far, for plainly obvious reasons.

winning solves problems. if Ford gives us a better chance to win Sat. i don't care that his RS is burned. if he's ok with it, and if his Mom/Pops are ok w/it..then it should be ok.

Don't burn the redshirt on the last game. That would be stupid beyond belief.

i've lost so much faith in miles I wouldn't be shocked if he runs ridley 2-4 times because he criticized miles and burns ford's RS

If ridley, trindon and shep all get hurt run orlando gunn or patrick lipoma

It is a VERY important game, BUT it seems unnecessary to use him. This kind of thing is a very strategic decion that I don't know all the facts about.

Still, if a freshman who has never seen the field and would be coming in as a backup can lift us to a win then he should have been playing from the beginning, because CS, KW, RM, and SR have not been able to do that all year.

My point is I don't think the outcome of the game will have anyting do do with Ford -- win or lose. Based on the way the line has played I don't think it would matter if you have Ford or Adrian Peterson back there, both would be cannon fodder given the performance/scheme of the line and offense this year. It does not seem worth blowing a year of eligibility for a few carries.

After every game last year, Miles said "We will fix the defense"......never did

After most games THIS year, Miles said "We will get the ball to Shep more"....never really did.

Not very worked up about anything Miles SAYS. I'll wait and see what is done.

+1

Besides Ridley is the best back on thr roster. He will have two great games to end this year and next year will be one of the best backs in the SEC. Ive been saying it for quite a long time and its time to see the full load.

for the guy that said "Saban asked before burning his redshirt"

you are a dipshit if you really think that Miles won't do the same...you just hate miles to hate miles, much like you talk to hear yourself talk...you are trying to drag him through the mud about how he went about burning the kids redshirt before he even burned his redshirt
