My in-laws are in Madison. Father-in-law works for Nasa. He's a hardcore LSU fan and gets tons of grief for proudly wearing his LSU gear.

Right on! I'd wear my P&G with pride no matter where it was, but it'll be nice to see someone else with refined taste in school colors

Thanks for the leedugas contact. I'll check in when we get on the ground.

And at least I'm a little closer to Omaha!

What angle were you looking at it from? Were you sober?

Ah, well...beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Yeah, I'm an OSU fan, and even I wouldn't say OSU has a beautiful campus. It's basically like a mini-city (with its own transportation/bus system) so it's kind of cool in that regard, but I wouldn't list OSU when talking about "natural" beauty. It does have really nice facilities (both academic and athletic, like the other poster mentioned), though, just not that good from an "outdoors" sense.

As far as RHS, yeah, they wear purple and gold (fits well). They're a decent football team (don't know if you care or not, probably not, but oh well), but nothing amazing. My team (Dublin Coffman) played them last year and beat them pretty bad (but we finished top 8 in D-1 in Ohio and were the only team that beat the eventual D-1 state champs). We played them at our place this year, so we might play them at RHS next year, if we play them OOC again, not sure if we will. If you want to see some good HS football, Ohio style, go to that game (unfortunately, I'm a senior, so I'll be gone next season, but still... ).

Kinda bland, but nice place to raise a family.

Columbus is a bad tourist city, but a good-great family/business city. It's a really good city when you compare it to some of Ohio's other cities.

Im transferring from LSU to The Ohio State University next fall. As far as OSU, the university has far superior facilities in pretty much every aspect. Also, Buckeye fans care more about the product on the field, whereas LSU from my experience care more about having a good time, enjoying themselves. Columbus is a great city, it gets colder than Baton Rouge, but from the Grove, to the stadium, to the Olentangy , there is nothing better than OSU

Are you serious? Look at all the threads complaining about the state of the program and dissecting every single play. If anything a lot of ppl on here are willing to settle for mediocrity.

From the sound of it, you're not much of an LSU fan anyway....in fact I'm willing to bet you're really an OSU poser (only 14 posts).

Nobody other than a Buckeye fan would call the school "the" Ohio State University.

If this was at Ohio State, Les Miles would have been fired already. Ohio State fans wanted Tressel Canned after the USC and Purdue this year and still constantly complain about his lack of recruiting and not closing on the big recruits, and the team won the conference outright and won the ROSE BOWL. At LSU, Les Miles 2 years has been a dud since his brain child buckeye Bo Pelini left. If that had happened at OSU, I promise you Les would be looking for a job. I bet you that even with one more mediocre year at LSU, Les will be back for 2011 although his seat will be hot

A very small percentage of idiots wanted Tress fired after these games, FWIW. Most just wanted (and still do) him to hire a bright, good OC and give up play-calling duties. But I know of no rational Buckeye fan that wants him fired.

He recruits well. I guess you're right about closing, but typically, OSU has outstanding classes, mainly because he's good early (this year's is kind of weak, but the last two were ranked #1 by one of the recruiting services, and next year's is expected to be very high).

And a lot of Les Miles' job security would depend (I guess ironically) on the Michigan game. If he wins that consistently, and the Bucks are at/near the top of the Big 10 consistently, he'd get at least the amount of time he's getting at LSU.

Based on some of his posts, he might be. Seems odd to go from LSU to OSU (if he was in love with OSU so much, why didn't he go there over LSU originally), but that's JMO.

Not with that monster buyout (thanks Skip)

Only complaint I've heard is for a good OC. Sweatervest has won the Big 10 pretty much every year since taking over and more importantly dominates Michigan. What sane fan would want him gone?

Unfortunately yes. If he is fired we will have to settle for another middle of the pack 2 million dollar coach since LSU cant afford to pay the buyout and bring in a top tier coach.

You must be very young. Because when I lived in Columbus a few years back, OSU coach Cooper overstayed his welcome. It took a few years to replace him.

One school has higher academic standards, TOSU's out of state admissions have gotten increasingly harder year by year since Gee returned.
