celebrating that you have Coach 0 as HC makes you tier 2.5

You have got to laugh at this site. An LSU site that when you say anything positive about LSU you get bashed and downvoted. Now if you Bash and insult LSU you get praised and up voted. LSU needs to do anything it can to separate itself from this site.

You said annually. That means every year.
Bama just won 3 straight. OSU didn't make it to their title game this year. Therefore they don't qualify for your own statement.

Top Tier school.
Not Top Tier Coach.
I hope the latter improves

I think the term was "competition for"

What week was the teams mentioned out of contention for their championship game vs when LSU was out? over the past 5 years?

A top tier school is one that competes annually for a p5 conference championship

Your post is quote. You said competes annually.

In the last 5 years LSU has typically been in the hunt in November until running into Bama.

And was out of contention for the next 3 weeks.

Tell me when the other teams I mentioned were mathematically out of the running for their conf championship? Because that determines their ranking. And their ranking determines where people view them on a Tier level.

Year to year

Really? Ohio St hasn't competed for its conf championship? Fla? FSU? Clemson? OK? Oregon? Stanford? in recent years?

Alright. So of the 7 teams you mentioned, 3 of them aren't in contention this year & of them Ohio State was out early after their loss to PSU. So YOUR statement of "annually" is purely wrong just based on this season alone.

FL had a cake walk in the East. OK plays in a joke of a P5 conference.

LSU was a heartbeat snap (Auburn) + a play run in the right direction away from being tied with Bama for 1 loss & "in contention".

Lastly, people don't have this "tier" view that is so recently prevalent here on TD.

If there was a legitimate Tier system, LSU would 1000% be in Tier 1 of any logical breakdown of tiers. MANY CFB experts picked LSU to either win the national championship or at least be in the playoff this year as well as last year.

All other qualifiers aside, how could anyone consider LSU anything but a Top Tier program?!?!?

So....the Florida game....we're blaming Orgeron that a kid fumbled on the 3 yard line? Or the holder mishandling the snap? What about a cornerback that allows a 40 yard reception than whiffs on a weak tackle attempt. Please tell me how Orgeron screwed that up??? Yeah, yeah we got shut out by Alabama. Well, guess what. Alabama has ho slapped everyone this year...and only the Ed Orgeron coached team even competed(with Cam Cameron's leftover play book)

Agreed, but not in the eyes of the media, which is where it counts today.

Yes, I agree the media is retarded, but they own and run the sport. In their mind, we are Tier 2. Hiring Orgeron sealed that for many more years to come.

I see Tier 1 schools as the schools that have long term college football history and relevance on a national stage and as such, get the nod in grey situations. USC, Notre Dame, Ohio St, Oklahoma, Alabama.

For example, if Okie light was OU, they would have played LSU in the 2011 NC. Instead, Bama got the nod.

I also think if we were in that group we'd be playing in the Sugar Bowl this year. We just don't quit get the love that that group gets on a national level.
