Does UW seriously think LSU won't be able to sell 5,000 tickets? My guess is that LSU will bring 15,000 - 20,000 fans with those living on the west coast, those wanting to make it a vacation, and those just up for great away game.

I'm no expert on the matter, but it goes something like this: in SEC games, each home team is REQUIRED to allot a minimum number of tickets to the visiting team (I think it's 8000, but I could be wrong). If the visiting team uses all of them it is the up to the descretion of the home team to offer more, but they don't have to. In non-conference games, this rule does not apply. What I would guess happens is that in the case of a home and home, like we have here, LSU and Washington agreed to offer 5000. So when Washington returns the trip, we will only allot them 5000 tickets.

We sold out the OSU game a couple years ago with the worst coach in school history "coaching" us. Now that we have a real coach and some enthusiasm in the program, I don't think we'll have any problem selling this game out, especially since it's the first game of the year and the weather should be amazing. As mentioned earlier, classes don't start until after this game, so the student section might not be full with out of state students not able to make it up, but I expect all other seats to sell out. That said, if you still need tickets after the 5,000 allotment is gone, there are always a few tickets up on stubhub, and if you want to risk it you might find some off scalpers. Anyways, those of you who are making the trip, I hope you enjoy Seattle! That time of year it's one of the most beautiful places in the country, make sure you come up a couple days early to enjoy the sights
