If JJ and JL completion percentages are similar (which they are...58% vs. 53%) but JJ has WAY FEWER pass attempts than JJ (which he does...218 vs. 269), shouldn't they call more passing plays? JJ attempts 5-6 fewer passes per game than JL ever did.

Is the lack of attempts one differentiation between the perceived "productivity" gap between JJ and JL?

I think this also could be one reason (of many) the running game has suffered. Not enough pass attempts to keep the D honest.

Don't necessarily have a QB favorite, just think fewer attempts explains part of the statistical difference between the 2.

Defense isn't honest when they know JJ won't sling it down the field unless the WR is WIDE open.

Sacks and scrambles add up to make them about even...last year J Lee threw picks...this year JJ gets sacked or scrambles for a few yards. The amount of pass plays compared to last year are similar, we are just seeing different results. I would rather a sack or scramble than a pick but both are still frustrating

The 5-6 passes are called, he just doesn't throw them. Takes a sack or scrambles

Out of 25 first half plays vs UF. JJ threw it 8 times (6-8 56 yards 1 INT). JJ wasn't sacked and scrambled only once out of those 25 plays.

Where is the balance? Only a total of 9 passing plays out of 25 and 3 of them were on 3rd down and only 1 of those passes were thrown over 15 yards (26 yarder to LaFell).

How hard is it to call a defense against this type of offense? Put all players within 10 yards and you're going to stop it.

1. I'm sure the coaches don't tell Jefferson to keep the ball within 10 yards of the LOS. For him, it's as if a receiver becomes ineligible once their route starts going deep.

2. The coaches have been trying to make use of Jefferson's mobility. IMO, they just need to give up on the option as Jefferson clearly isn't capable of running it.

I saw this ove rand over with Houston Nutt offenses up here in Arky. Simple game plan to max protect=lots of men in the box and easy defending. Makes it harder on a QB, not easier. JJ certainly bears some responsibility as well...
