I walked away very happy with our first look of the LSU basketball team.

Johnny O'Beast was as good as advertised. He was a man among boys out there and could do pretty much whatever he wanted. He is already our best player on the team no doubt.

I was also extremely impressed with Hickey. He was very quick, smart with the basketball, and can shoot the rock. We may very well have our first true point guard who can do all the things you want a 1 to do since Torris Bright (maybe a bad example but can't think of anyone else since him who can compete in the SEC).

Issac is not as good as the first 2 freshmen, but again, I walked away impressed with his abilities as well. Good shooting touch, played real hard.

Overall, I am pretty pumped about our team and I do think 8-8 in the SEC will be a minimum expectation for Coach Johnson. Honestly think we can do better. We have depth and 10-11 players Coach can put in the game with not much drop off in play.

Again, this was just 1 game and we looked like world beaters last year after 1 game too. So, let's see how we look against some good competition next week, but early indications are we will be 100% improved

Hamilton is a monster, I know he's not a Frosh but gonna be a strong front court with him and Johnny

I know it was only one game, and against Nicholls, but just seeing that we put up 96 and had 7 guys in double figures is exciting.

I didn't go see the game, how big was the crowd?

Ralston says otherwise.

i'm not passing the torch until Johnny O plays in some SEC games.

6-7k or so?

O'Bryant looked like he was a little out of shape, but that'll come the more he gets comfortable playing college ball. Hickey is awesome and I'm a huge fan, he brings a fire yet calming presence to the game. I'm excited that our team has players that can grow and build.

Why not? This isn't a knock on Turner but a testament to how talented O'Bryant is.

Pmac was about half full, pretty good turn out, but that was in large part due to the fact that the game was free. When a player like Eddie Ludwig goes from your 7th or 8th man to your 10th maybe 11th, it's saying something about the team imo. This team should be much improved over last season.

Glad to hear there are things to be positive about when it comes to our basketball program. It's been a couple years.

I think once football season is over the crowd will improve. Especially if they keep scoring a lot of points.

I want to see more too, but man it was nice to have size down low for a change. Hamilton's got good touch with his shot, JO3 has a lot of size and is a force down low, and Stringer looked so much better at the 2. Hopefully this improvement continues.

-Hickey will run the offense along with Bass

-JOB becomes our best player along with Turner

- Isaac I was impress with his shot and athletism(especially when he went up for the dunk where he got fouled but still made it)

Stringer will be a new player this year. Dude does NOT miss when he can set his feet. last year he was throwing up 30 footers to avoid shot clock violations and that's why he only shot 29%...these 4 big bodies we have are really going to open things up for him at the 2. This may be a top 25 team.

the inside post presence will def benefit ralston, hickey and stringer.

i also like hamilton's shot too. he looks like he may be a solid 5 for us.

Guards , especially Hickey (sp?) need to stop the penetration dribble. Liked watching this team with potential.
