Thoughts on FLA experience

Just got back from FLA for the first time.
I thought the in game experience was fantastic, but the entire tailgating and pregame was so so in my opinion. Cool campus, though. Great fans for the most part. I really enjoyed their company during the game. Most of them were fair and cordial and only wanted to talk football.
There were some sour apples, but i liked what i saw for the most part. That stadium is fantastic. I sort of wish Tiger Stadium had a similar design to that. The angle really helps add to the noise level, IMO. But its a great design and a really cool setting for a game.
Where would yall rank it as an overall gameday destination? (SEC or national)

tailgating was lame...but only because the cops kept busting us up. campus was too spread out also
stadium was awesome, their fans are loud and know how to cheer...but once again the cops they put in front of the LSU section ruined it
for being the "best party school" they sure have cops to break up a good time

I just got back as well. A few thoughts. First, the campus. Campus is very blah. Not very attractive. Lots of spanish moss everywhere was cool, but buildings don't stand out. Tailgating on campus was pretty pathetic as well. We walked around and saw empty parking lots and huge grass areas w/ only a few tailgaters. We only ran into a couple of obnoxious a-hole fans but not as many as I expected.
Now the swamp may look unimpressive from the outside, but inside is badass. Great looking stadium inside. The crowd was loud as hell. By far the loudest of the SEC stadiums (not counting LSU). They get loud on virtually every LSU offensive play. They stay loud the whole game. And heres a novel concept: the fans actually stay for the entire game, unlike many LSU fans.
Their pregame is quite lame. Band doesn't really get the crowd excited. Mr. two bits is just stupid. During the game, I might have heard the UF band play only a couple of times. Most of the time they pump in rock music during every play break. I felt like I was at an AC/DC concert.
I still think Tiger stadium is slightly louder, b/c although the swamp was consistently loud, it never rose to the "holy shite" level loud that I've heard at times in Tiger Stadium. Overall a fun trip. The LSU alumi association put on a ridiculously badass tailgate by the way.

Hardly, I think a 7 year old with severe ADHD designed that place...

Sgt. Corwine of the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
His Sheriff will be getting a call tomorrow morning.

watching the game i noticed how there is like no room on thesideline the crowd is right there on top of you and you better hit the brakes when you go out of bounds or bust your arse

I had a great time despite the loss.
tailgating was definitely lame on the florida fans part but we partied up us LA style. cooked some good food and shocked some florida taste buds into life.
one thign i noticed was the lack of music from florida tailgaters...more tvs than anything

Not a real big moment in the game last night that would invoke a "holy shite" moment.
97 FSU and 06 USCe.....I thought I was involuntarily going to shite myself.

It's a few feet shorter than TS, but the actual design of the stadium looks cool on TV but blows arse in person. Just not good walkways, gates, sightlines, etc. They left themselves with no room to expand over the current 90k.
I still think in my biased opinion that it is the second best SEC stadium to TS.

Within about 50 yards of us there were 5 LSU tailgates, all had music. Of the 20+ Uf, only 1 had music and it was a home stereo.

Yea, the only thing good about the swamp is there are no nosebleeds.
Their tailgating sucks. I swear...we parked by the frat houses and the people tailgating werent playing to music, wasnt drinking, hardly cooking, and barely talking. I was shocked. They look bored as hell. (these werent frats thou, I didnt see them). They were only playing beanbags and shite...then you had cops on bikes smelling your drinks everywhere. WORST gameday atmosphere in the SEC. Maybe the nation behind ASU. I didn see people having fun across the street from the stadium, I guess thats not "campus"
Campus is really spread out. Thats why all students have mopads. Thats the only way you're going to get around.

I did notice a lot of hot chicks with douche bags.

Now that IS true. Douche bags with hair product and hot chick on their arm.. inexplicable.

The Florida fans are HORRIBLE! We had drinks thrown at us, curse words told straight to our face (by women, not men), we heard "CORNDOGS" shouted more than Gator Bait!
The campus is nice looking but the drinking laws are RIDICULOUS! Saw several tiger fans with cuffs, and I know a few thrown out the game for cursing (I understand this).
The tailgate was the best part

Gator fans and Gator cops were assholes
Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, MSU, Ole Miss all have better fans than Florida.
