re: My Dexter season 3 plot theory

Posted by Black Gallagher on 10/13/08 at 11:04 pm to
not a bad theory based on something in the news recently:

Spoiler warning:

Someone posted an article stating that Jimmy Smits almost accidentally stabbed to death an actor on set a week or so ago. The scene had someone tied up and Smits' character took a knife (accidentally a real one, not prop) and stabbed the tied up actor who had mouth taped (breast plate saved his life). This could mean Smits' character is assisting Dexter in a killing. We'll see.

I have a question: how do you BECOME a vampire. Is it being bit by a vampire? Most vamp movies I've seen have you becoming a vamp when bitten by a vamp. This show does not seem to follow that.
UF is not that great. Lsu's defese is putrid. It's going to get ugly, I'm afraid.

yeah, you're right. harvin was terrible before this year.

what was i thinking?
I never said he was terrible. I simply pointed out that he has never scored against LSU until covered by McCray or Beckwith. Your comment that he would rape whoever was covering him is refuted by the fact that LSU had never let Harvin score on them in his career until saturday.
why is this on the rant. take your pitt love to the more sports board.
quote:

because he'd rape them too
Really? like he did the past two seasons? Oh wait, Harvin has never scored a TD against LSU in his career until yesterday.
quote:

our D has not looked good in any game this year, and has looked downright bad/horrible the past 3 games
I think most fans are overlooking this. Its not just ONE game. The Defense has been shitty all season.

I think LSU loses 2 more games and plays in the cotton bowl. Book it.
Every one knew going into this game that UF would try to get Harvin matched up against LSU's weakness: McCray or a linebacker. How in the world did the LSU coaching staff allow McCray and Beckwith to cover Harvin on their first 2 touchdown plays when EVERY LSU fan out there knew this was the one thing we could not do defensively?

Seriously. Every freaking LSU fan I know said before the game that we can't have McCray or a Linebacker covering Harvin and our genius coaching staff allowed just that. I have absolutely ZERO faith in the defensive coaching staff that they didn't foresee this or didn't scheme to make sure it would not happen. Its sickening.

I honestly think that LSU could win out
what game where you watching saturday night. LSU's defensive scheme is terrible. It gave up the most points scored by Auburn, Miss. St. and North Texas offenses. I don't expect it to get better overnight. LSU has no shot at SEC title game. Even if we beat Bama, they will not lose another game on their schedule and LSU certainly will lose at least 1 more.
I just got back as well. A few thoughts. First, the campus. Campus is very blah. Not very attractive. Lots of spanish moss everywhere was cool, but buildings don't stand out. Tailgating on campus was pretty pathetic as well. We walked around and saw empty parking lots and huge grass areas w/ only a few tailgaters. We only ran into a couple of obnoxious a-hole fans but not as many as I expected.

Now the swamp may look unimpressive from the outside, but inside is badass. Great looking stadium inside. The crowd was loud as hell. By far the loudest of the SEC stadiums (not counting LSU). They get loud on virtually every LSU offensive play. They stay loud the whole game. And heres a novel concept: the fans actually stay for the entire game, unlike many LSU fans.

Their pregame is quite lame. Band doesn't really get the crowd excited. Mr. two bits is just stupid. During the game, I might have heard the UF band play only a couple of times. Most of the time they pump in rock music during every play break. I felt like I was at an AC/DC concert.

I still think Tiger stadium is slightly louder, b/c although the swamp was consistently loud, it never rose to the "holy shite" level loud that I've heard at times in Tiger Stadium. Overall a fun trip. The LSU alumi association put on a ridiculously badass tailgate by the way.
You are crazy if you think lsu gets anywhere near the sec title game. Bama isn't losing to anyone left on schedule except maybe lsu and Lsu will lose at least 2 more games. With this defense we ain't going nowhere. Georgia will skullfrick us and we'll be lucky to beat USC, bama & ole miss.
Tillman's comment that "if Jarrett Lee can keep progressing, Les Miles will take one more step out of Saban's shadow b/c he'll be winning w/ his recruits instead of Saban's" is so freaking ridiculous. Seriously. 4 years later and people are still saying he CAN step out of the shadow IF a freshman QB progresses?

Steven, what the hell. Are you and Cathy and the crew bitching out on the game? Why would you cancel?

re: Section 47 LSU fans

section 47 here. Row 70 something. I think it goes as high as row 90.
Sometimes the bank gives you extra money by mistake. Last week while checking my online statement I noticed a deposit that I did not make. I called the bank to tell them it was a mistake and not my money. They later called me back to get permission to debit that money from my account. They explained the mistake occured when a clerk accidentally forgot to close my account on her computer and deposited the next customer's deposit into my account.

One must ask, is it to our teams advantage to play on the road at 1130am or 8pm
I think avoided the early start is important for LSU. Those early games are dangerous for favored teams. This game is already somewhat of a trap game and then you put LSU in that game sleepwalking and it could be a big problem.

know that its almost a lock that LSU-BAMA will be 2:30
Its not ALMOST a lock, it is a lock. Bet the farm. CBS crew hinted that they will be at the LSU/Bama game during last saturday's telecast. The schedule is also pretty weak for that weekend. LSU/BAMA is 100% guaranteed to be a CBS day game.
ESPN is clearly waiting to see if Vandy and UGa both win. If both win this weekend, ESPN will definitely pick that game and LSU gets 11:30, whether we beat UF or not. Vandy and UGa will both be around top 10 and ESPN isn't passing that up.

Basically:
LSU loss to UF = 11:30 LSU/USC game
Vandy and UGA & LSU win= 11:30 LSU/USC game
Vandy or UGA loss & LSU win = likely ESPN game for LSU/USC
Vandy or UGa loss & USC loss = who knows

With Vandy and UGa both favored this week, its looking like a 11:30 game for LSU next week

re: White jerseys

Posted by Black Gallagher on 10/6/08 at 2:10 pm to
I'm shocked at how many people have no clue about the jersey rule. Its simple. Memorize it. LSU wears white at home for SEC games and DOES NOT need permission. SEC rule (after 99 season) says that home team gets to decide jersey color. The NCAA "Dinardo" rule of 1995 gave home team right to wear white at home IF it got permission first from visiting team. So for NON SEC games, LSU must get permission to wear white at home. For SEC games, the home team decides jersey color and doesn't need permission.
Last time was 1990 regular season. Miami (89 champ) played Notre Dame (88 champ).

Edited to add: It also happened the year before when Miami (87 champ) played Notre Dame (88 champ).
I can see it now. Harvin or Rainey burns McCray for a TD like we all expect and it costs us the game, only to have Miles make excuses for McCray again in his presser and continue to start McCray the rest of the season. Seriously, if everyone watching LSU can tell that McCray has some serious matchup problems, why don't the coaches?
