It’s like Raymond took footage of Hookfin and said “here, guys, this is IT!”

LBs are weak in coverage
I saw on several different places that they think the LBs' problems were because of communication, not lack of talent.

Holy shite

Actually Mike Jones was the highest graded linebacker against the pass in the nation at Clemson. Don't know why he wants to play a position he doesn't shine at. He was mocked as a late first rounder until he came to LSU.

All outside CBs played fine. Garner got beat on a trick play but could've possibly INT the ball if he turned around but he was making ground up so understandable why he didn't.

LBs were awful in just about every phase of the game.

S made plays and also blew tons of assignments in zones.

Most of LSU's problems appeared to be assignments, missed tackles, and communication to me. Easily fixable but we've been saying this for 3 years now. 3 DCs in 3 years doesn't help. Ward is consistently shitting the bed on missed assignments the past few seasons.

According to who?
For example...

Jones Jr. brings plenty of big game experience to Baton Rouge. In fact, he lined up against his new team back in the 2019 College Football National Championship Game. Additionally, he picked off Ohio State QB Justin Fields in the CFP semifinals last year.

The linebacker has incredible versatility and is known for his ability to cover wide receivers off the line of scrimmage. His skillset and performance in fall camp has earned him a spot on ESPN's preseason top-50 prospects of the 2021 college football season.
Fanbuzz article
We generally only have two LBers on the field at a time and one is considered a coverage specialist.

Using an old Saban adage, the entire team and coaches looked like a brook trout... or in more local terms, until the final 10 minutes or so, a deer in headlights. They played soft, dumb and slow (including BK) until they sped up the tempo. We can't win in the SEC with that low level intensity or it will make last season's 6-7 look like a homerun. The DBs played as well as any group. The Oline is obviously weak and the LBers ... Did any of them make plays?
