Foster simply isn't getting enough reps for his poor play last season, and the fact that our outfield is 6 deep. He may get some chances at DH late in games, but that's why he isn't getting on the field.

They're obviously giving a lot of people a chance to step up and take the 3rd outfield position and I wouldnt mind Foster getting that chance for a few games. I don't mind Chinea/Moore at DH. Ross will not come out of the lineup regardless but it would be nice if he could improve his hitting to just below average rather than abysmal

Ross just cannot hit the ball this year at all!

That's a bit of an exaggeration. Ross was 1 for 3 last night along with a walk.

Moore can't throw runners out stealing second base.

or give Foster a try

You must have missed recent games. Foster started the game Wednesday night and he has been pinch hitting.

Ross did hit better last year.
He has more potential than he's been displaying this year.

So did Rhymes but I'm pretty sure he won't be benched either.

Yeah but he is 6-12 this season with a double, a homerun, and 2 RBI's so I fig that would earn him some more chances. Guess we'll see as the season progresses

You want Chinea benched after showing that much power last night?

He's going to be good. I'd rather him get reps in SEC play NOW. Ross is fine. We need him at catcher. He'll eventually get out of his slump. He hit well last year.

I'm more concerned about our relief. Rumbelow hasn't looked good at all this year and Joey/Cotton are our only consistent relief this year. If we don't find relief soon, we're going to be in trouble. Someone needs to help consistently. Third day starter is a concern too but we'll see how Glenn rebounds from last week. This team is really good this year. If we can get over the few humps I just mentioned, we're leaving BR after the Super Regional...

I wish we had our pitching from last year. We'd be unstoppable.

Woa there.
I'm not suggesting we take Ross out.
I'm just stating that we know he can hit a little better.

My apologies. I thought you were agreeing with the OP that Ross should be replaced by Moore.

Yeah I was never suggesting that we take Ross out either cuz he is so good behind the plate and saves us God knows how many runs from being scored by other teams! Guess I'm just frustrated with his lack of hitting. I mean if he was somewhere near the .250's I'd be content but the .190's and low .200's just isn't good. Hopefully he improves.

Ross isn't hitting up to his full potential yet but his on base percentage is not horrible. In fact it's only .020 below Moore's OB% so Moore does not give us that much more of an offensive ability.

Fair point. I was trying to find their averages with RISP but couldn't do it. Feel like that's really where he has struggled.

I was referring to Moore in the DH spot getting more at bats.
