He played there in high school, and was good, but outgrew the position

My guess is that every single player (including pitchers) on this team, who throws right handed, has played SS at a level way above every other high school baseball player. Only exception may be a pitcher at a very big school that is known as a baseball power.

Point being, just because a kid played SS in high school, and did exceptionally well, doesn't mean they can play SS in college.

So let's fire the coach that's been there for less than a year, because you're angry, and hire a new one.

He doesn't understand baseball, hated the hire, got pissed because he didn't get his way.

Replacement? Fielding %, batting average? It’s likely that he has already weighed the options…..multiple times. Not to worry…call in to the radio show tonight and educate him. I’ll be listening.

you serious clark?
do they hit ground balls differently in college than they do in high school?

Baseball is not a complicated sport to play. You either know how to field a fricking ground ball and throw to first accurately or you don't. It should not be hard to find a competent fielder of the ball for routine plays. Now maybe they aren't as quick as Thompson and can't get to all the plays, but they can at least make the routine ones.

and Bianco should be at short, at least for a game out of each of the next two series

Why have i seen multiple people propose Leto at short?

Because there are Homer Leto fans. Just fun to suggest it.
