I’ve been telling people for months this was coming. A team cannot just replace all time greats like that. Burrow is likely the best QB LSU will ever have. The late exodus of guys we thought would be playing just cemented it.

We just had a team in discussion as tGOAT, enjoy that.

This ain’t gonna be our year and we will lose a couple more. Don’t get so caught up it ruins your life, geez. Hopefully we can be competitive in those, gain experience, and be ready for a better season next year

I saw no necessary adjustments.

adjust to what? a zone? LULZ. you realize how hard that is to implement normally much less in our situation?

did you want him to go from cover 2 man under to prevent big plays over the top to cover 0 and get both safties to help double team 2 outta 5 receivers? then leach air raid us over the top with no help?

we had zilch for experience out there. easiest to play man under with safty help over the top. issue is we could not tackle or cover underneath so short crosses turned into long gains when they are not supposed to be. he was in a no win situation. his safest lowest risk situation blew up in everyones faces. it coulda been even worse in zone or cover 0. could we have tried cover 1 with other safety used as a undercutter to the crossing routes? sure but leach still coulda burned us where that safety vacated. none of these guys forgot how to coach. the players were bad. real bad.

I mean we all have to be realistic here. You have a new DC and new assistant OC who spent a significant portion of their transitioning offseason in zoom calls trying to get a bunch of 18 and 19 year old kids ready to play in the SEC. Yeah you can point the finger here and there but when you really look at which players had great games, they were the ones who have the real game time experience.

You can fault the coaches all you want, and should to a certain degree, but there's one thing I feel confident in, I feel like we will look significantly better as the season goes on.

Part of me wishes Brennan would have gotten more playing time last year in mop up duty too.

Your right that a championship is out of reach. Especially with other teams with extremely short schedules and lack of competition in those conferences. 2020 is a rebuild year. And before everyone continues to year down Brennan, remember this. Burrow 2018 wasn't special until he let loose against A&M. He spent 4 years at OSU getting beat out. He's been loyal to LSU and I believe he deserves the benefit of the doubt right now. He was terrible against MS, but one game shouldn't define him as a QB
