quote:

"We talked about runs," Miles said. "I felt like the quarterback could manage the situation. That was my mistake."

Well Les, I felt like the coach could manage the situation.......I mean Jefferson had only bailed your arse out when you finally let him throw the ball downfield with 5 mins left in the game.

I will drive my arse down to the walk on's on Wednesday and call out Les's punk arse for this ridiculous comment........

Jefferson did everything correct down the stretch and should never been in that situation with 1:40 seconds left in the game.........We were in fg range and just needed to advance the football.......

I've been a Les defender mostly by denial, but it's over..........Max and Slowflow make me an Avatar!

Did you see the other quote about him not wanting to run the ball because he didn't want to turn it over?

"I thought the coach could manage the CLOCK" would be fitting for JJs quote

Dude bitch about that. Bitch about us losing because if we run 3 times up the middle then miss a field goal then Miles would be blasted for be conservative head coach.

I think all of us would like the QB to not take a sack there. What's the problem? Isn't that managing the situation?

Not a shot at JJ. he's learning on the job, not easy.

quote:

That was my mistake

again, Miles said it was the HC fault. Whats the problem?

Does Miles ever make sense to anyone?

My favorite is when he said, "....and we would have finished FIRST in that game." Can he just speak normally and say "we would have WON. Moron

How 'bout we just bitch about Miles not being a very good coach and making every game closer than they should be!

From the quote Miles seems to be infering that it was his mistake to believe Jefferson could have managed the situation........

To me that's how it sounds........like Jefferson was to blame for being presented with a 1st and 10 all out blitz from the 31 yard line with 2 timeouts.

Couldn't agree more. If you were in a high powered "executive" type position with multi million dollar salary and high media exposure, failure followed by blaming 19 yr. olds would get you swiftly fired. shite, Charlie Weis at least knew how to handle a hostile press conference yesterday without blaming plain kids.

Questions for les:
A fade on the 1 yd. line?
Throwing the ball when you are on the 32 and you have a previous 50 yd field goal in the game?
Onside kick call earlier in the game to give ole miss short field?
Obvious time out debacle.
But really, my biggest question, is how you can put this loss on a kid when you are the million dollar coach who is payed to make simple calls and is payed to keep your assistants below you in line and on the same page.

If any of you or I pulled a stunt like this in the real job world we would be gone or on double secret probation.
Theraputic rant over.

I liked how he threw in the word "certainly" at the end of his ridiculous post-game interview... as though somebody would be impressed.

in hindsight Miles would be correct for thinking that correct?

sorry but JJ cannot take a sack there. He was not initially pressured, he scrambled backwards and was sacked. If Miles thought his QB would not make that mistake, than Miles was wrong for thinking a QB who has not shown much pocket pressence would finally show some IMO

This is asinine, you are on the 32 and you are having your quarterback take 5 step drops when you know ole miss will be coming with the blitz and one sack takes you out of fg range. Run it, throw the slant, out, screen, whatever so long as it is quick or the opportunity to throw it safely at the receivers feet is there. Also, running 3 times up the middle at least gives your kicker a chance.

So you are blaming Jefferson..........

Jefferon's job was to hand the ball off when they got the ball to the 31.......

He didn't have to be in that position......
