Agree, but the point is it hasn't happened only at LSU.

We are. I'm growing tired of the LSU fan base being used for so-called negative recruiting as if no other programs have dealt with bouts of negativism from their fan bases.

No shite. I never missed a home game through that entire debacle. At least people stayed through the games then.

If you look into the other corner, I'd say 75% of the student section is there.

By the end of the night, only about 40% of us were left, if that.

only 75% of the student section was there at the start of the game, by then it was probably 30% of the 75% was left.

my perception could have been skewed, I was sitting 3 rows from the front.

But whatever, at least I stayed.

I've been a bad Tiger fans this year for some reason and I use to criticize people for leaving early.

I turned the Florida game off on TV during the 4th qtr, left the Georgia game in the 4th before the rally and left after half of Troy.

I've followed the Tigers for many many many years and this is the first year I have ever left early. I just can't get excited this year for some reason and it was a huge letdown after the Bama fiasco.

All that said I support Miles and the team and will be in my seat for Ole Miss till the end. We did go to South Carolina so don't call me out as a wuss. Plan on going to Arkansas too.

that 75% was alot more than what they had in the two upper decks to start the game.

the student section looks more empty b/c everyone isn't spread out like the rest of the stadium.

i bet if you took both upper decks saturday night and sit them side by side on one side you wouldn't have been able to fill up one of them.

So, it's ok to only support them when they are not getting hammered? But crap all over them when they are getting hammered?

THANK YOU, and enough with the 'cold' crap. Damn, you would swear, listening to some of you on this board, and some around here, you would swear that it was 20 below.

And what about those of us who can't get tickets, hm? I listened on the radio because that was the best I could do -- but I'd have MUCH rather been in the stadium

There were so many tickets available outside, I really call BS on that statement. I would have gladly given you my 4, as both our boys got invites, and we had two from friends that were on the 50. I heard one guy outside the stadium holding up tickets and saying 3 tickets for a beer. There were even tickets for sale for the Alabama game, so don't EVEN try that crap to call anyone else out.

I like that picture. I like it because of what's missing. the BOO BIRD LOSERS

I've got no problem with Nega-Tigers - that's just a pessimistic Tiger fan. The problem is BOO BIRD Tigers.

Anyone who was there probably noticed this - when the fans stopped leaving - the team started winning. When the crowd had been finally reduced to its lowest number is about when the game started turning around. This is obviously because all the BOO BIRD Tigers had finally left! Go figure - when your 19 year old freshman qb stops getting BOOED - he starts doing better! ALOT better. Who woulda thought?

I hope to see that same picture this Saturday - a picture of Tiger Stadium - minus the BOO BIRD Tigers.

EDIT: I do not mean to suggest that all who left early are BOO BIRD Tigers - just that all BOO BIRD Tigers left early.

I will tell you exactly what it says... "I am bringing the Tigers bad luck and need to get the hell out of here before they lose." I stayed in one spot in my bedroom the whole 4th quarter in efforts not to jinx LSU. We won. All of you owe my arse too! Had I went to the fridge or to pee we would have lost.

We stayed in one place at the stadium. It didn't occur to me until days later we could have easily moved to a better spot for viewing. A combination of the cold and the a) shock of being down 28 points followed by the b) shock a score-at-will offense and inpenetrable defense that came out of nowhere kept us unconsciously frozen in our seats.

If you would have moved we might have lost. Thanks for staying put!

What I'm saying is that all these people are getting all over people for not showing up or leaving early, pretending that the team would play better if the stadium was full and loud for every game. Obviously, that is not the case.

The crowd doesn't directly affect the home team's play, generally. The crowd does directly affect the visiting team's offense. When the "everything is going well and the weather's good" crowd gets loud on an opposing team's offense is affected. I've seen it. The quotes about our stadium (sadly from a bygone era) prove it.

quote:

First, you assume that I'm a "leave early" guy, which I never said I was, but that doesn't matter either way.

And sorry, I didn't mean that you, specifically, are a "leave early" guy yourself, but have chosen to stand with them against those of us who are suggesting that if you're not going to see the team through, don't go at all. Watch the games on television. What I meant was that you are among those defending the indefensible, leaving early, when the team makes the greatest comeback in modern history.

quote:

I know where Nebraska and Michigan stand in the cfb history bookds, don't lecture me.

Your quote, "Where has that gotten them?" implied a disregard of the history of the program. I placed myself in the position of defending the imminently defensible - diehard fans staying for the whole dadgum game, and cheering their team win or lose.
