This is why we need playoff

Lose 2 and nothing to play for. In a playoff system with at least 8 teams you can try to perform well until the end of season to be included in the playoff. I guess as long as people attend the stupid
Bowl games it won't happen.

I say 16 teams. Bowls suck. Why should 70 of 120 teams make bowl games? And all the people who say the bowls are a tradition can just STFU because it used to mean something to go to bowl games.

but conversely....if you go undefeated, why should your season be done if you lose to a team that lost a couple of games previously during the season....
does a playoff system really make you national champion?....or would you be a "tournament champion?".....

Anything more than 4 is a fricking travesty.
Half the idiots on the board think we're terrible with a retard for a coach but think we deserve a shot at a national title???
We aren't terrible, but we don't deserve a shot at the national title this year. Could we win a playoff? Sure. But we wouldn't deserve the shot.
Expanding just so that more teams have something to play for longer isn't crowning a true champ, it's catering to the LCD.
Simple as that.
I'll be happy with our bowl game while the great teams fight it out for the right to hold the crystal. It's not our year.

Now that the genie is out of the bottle and we have a playoff, this is exactly why I want an 8 team playoff!!! We actually would have something to realistically play for instead of just which bowl game we are now going to.

Name another major sport that doesn't have playoffs? Why do all other levels of college FB have a 16 team playoff?

Yeah let's turn college football into college basketball, a gigantic meaningless regular season followed by 1 big single elimination tournament.
Everybody who wants a 16 team playoff, the first year LSU finishes 17 you'll be bitching it's not 32.
If you can't finish in the top 4 you ain't F'ING national champions.

You have been brainwashed. The only way to have all regular season games meaningful until the is to have a real playoff system. You don't even have to think if you can not just look at NFL.

Meaningless regular season is the dumbest argument I've ever heard. Teams would be playing for home field advantage and seeding. Why isn't the nfl regular season meaningless?
