During his four-year tenure as the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys (2019–2022), Kellen Moore's offenses scored a combined 304 points in the first quarter across regular-season games. That’s 4.6 points per quarter.

The Los Angeles Chargers scored a total of 68 first-quarter points during the 2023 NFL regular season under offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

During the 2024 NFL regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles offense under Kellen Moore finished with a total of 54 first-quarter points across 17 games.

Because the team famously failed to score a single point in the 1st quarter of their first 7 games, the bulk of this production happened during a massive second-half turnaround.

From Week 9 onward, they averaged roughly 5.4 points per opening quarter to close out the regular season

Since taking over as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints in 2025, Kellen Moore's teams have scored a combined total of 35 first-quarter points across 23 games.

• Single-Game Cap: The Saints have never scored more than 7 points in the first quarter of any game under his leadership.

• Early Deficits: The team has trailed in the first quarter in 21 of those 23 games, holding just one first-quarter lead across his entire tenure.

• Stalled Drives: The offense has logged 29 first-quarter three-and-outs, the highest volume in the NFL over that span

That sounds damn near impossible to do if accurate. His coaching in the beginning of games could not be worse.

So basically he is not good at drawing up a script but decent when calling plays on the fly.

The worst would be more appropriate. He needs to throw away scripts and just call based on what he is seeing when the D lines up from snap #1 or quit being such a puss in the beginning of games.
