How many people actually thought this is a playoff team b4 the season.
All I read was doom and gloom because of the Defense. Now all of a sudden
we`re going to be pissed that we won`t make the 12 team playoff if we lose
this week. You can`t make this up.

People throw around the words "must win" way too often. Words have meanings. If we lose Saturday, we could still win out and finish 10-2 which probably still gets us in. Would I predict that to happen if we lose to OM? Probably not, but it's still not an elimination game. And BK isn't getting fired with a loss.

So no, Saturday is not a "must win" by the definition of the words. A loss would greatly diminish any margin for error for the rest of the season for sure, so it's certainly an important game. But if this game is a "must win" then so is every single game on the schedule, rendering the comment redundant. Choose your words better.

Try to be objective about what we've seen so far. This team lost to a mediocre USC team, got lucky against an average South Carolina team, struggled for a half against a bad UCLA team.

We haven't played a good team yet. Based on what I've seen, it's hard for me to see us doing any better than 2-2 over the next 4 games and that would seal our playoff hopes.

The pessimist says you are right and there is no great argument against that.

The optimist says this was a team that entered the season with a ton of questions that needed to be sorted out. Many fans convinced themselves that wasn't the case, or that it didn't matter, but that was the reality. However, after 5 games the staff has a much better understanding of the personnel and the strengths/weaknesses of the team. The bye week came at a great time to take a break and reassess. Now, with that greater understanding to the roster LSU is ready to play it's best ball of the season.

I hope you are correct and that I'm wrong. I guess we'll find out soon

He already fricked up with the defense but he has got it right with the coaches on that side now they need the players! In which hopefully they are in their way with this upcoming recruiting class! He won’t feel no heat if he wins or loses

We can’t beat Ole Miss at home, we probably don’t deserve to be in the playoffs anyway.

Deserve's got nothing to do with it. Pick a better word.
