This is the type of Defensive Coordinator you need

Kris Richard Pissed
arse chewing the whole defense
He said it’s all about accountability and dependability to not make mistakes. Sometimes it was annoying to see Aranda just standing there scratching his head but his method worked. But I’ve never met a defensive player that doesn’t enjoy a coach that’s this passionate. You match that intensity and play your arse off. Obviously it’s more motivating to college players because a lot of NFL players are divas and will only play for their money. It’s all pride here!

Yah, that's a cool approach sometimes when the kids need it, but you don't want your DC losing it after every bad play...
Kids will quit respecting him..

Yeah that will go over well with college kids. Bet he just loves recruiting

Those were 2 very professional adults that knew that he was right. Very different from kids growing in maturity and responsibility.

You don't chew arse on every bad play with 18-22 years old anymore.
I'm not taking a stance on whether that's good or bad, but that's a quick way to lose your players respect.

Tell that to Nick Saban. It all depends on the respect players have for you as a coach

The guy is passionate and young guys respond to passion. You think O isn't passionate? Once you earn respect and the kids trust you...butt are much better tolerated. I feel quite sure this guys knows exactly how to dial it up or back as the situation dictates. I believe he would be far more effective than Aranda on the recruiting front.

The key is knowing when to do it and how to do it if you noticed it was not individuals but the unit .

A lot of times Saban is chewing an assistants arse. Lights a fire under that coach to get it right, saves the kid from getting his feelings hurt, while still effectively relaying his message. Also why you see his coaches jump to lateral positions, unlike our two coaching stars moving onto great GREAT opportunities

Is he doing this every play or are these 2 isolated incidents? I'm sure he lets them know we're cool later

That dude is trash... DO NOT WANT

My list would be Shoop, Grantham, Lanning (only makes 850k a year would be a significant raise) Bielema, even Derek Mason.

Hard Pass. A college kid would get worked up and punch him in the sideline.

Okay I’m listening... why?

His players do not respect him. They tolerate him to get to the NFL. Didn't AJ McCarron talk badly about Saban once he got away from him? How about his assistant coaches? How about the people at LSU in the Athletic Building?
Nobody respects a raging dick.

I love how people see two 10 second video clips and come to the conclusion that all he does is scream. This board, I swear. It's as if a world does not exist outside of what's right in front of your face.

there's 2 clips and everyone is yelling "you can't do that on every play!!"
