"i agree....i "question" his decision to not bunt Gibbs. He's a great coach but that was just not a good decision IMO"

Where that ball was hit over second base, how many shortstops would have been positioned there to make that play...???..not very damn many....IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BASE HIT IN 9 OUT OF 10 GAMES...

"Do you think miles sometimes walks out of his house without pants on and his wife has to snag him back in? "

DO YOU DO THIS?....

its pretty puzzling. The pansy D he played against Rick Clausen in '05 and UK and Arkansas in '07 versus the defense he plays at Nebraska is quite the contrast. I dont understand how we played 20 yards off of WRs versus pea shooter armed QBs like that.

the 2nd time he bunted him, they threw the guy out at 2nd. And then he pinch runs for Gaudet. WTF

People can argue about bunting or not bunting, but there is no defense for this move. If you are going to have him bunt and then pinch run for him, why not pinch hit for him with someone who can bunt and run well?

No, I wanna know why Pelini's defenses here were so mediocre in comparison to Nebraska; and why is the philosophy different?

That's what I'm saying. Miles was in his way. When he got on his own, he did it his way.

This is another viable option. I would have bunted Micah, his bat skills are good. I mean, it's a bunt. Most 12 yr olds can lay down a bunt.

the hire of Mr. Safe Defense Chavis shows you how aggressive Les wants to be on defense. He wants a guy that runs a super safe defense so he can utilize the fact that he has more talent than his opponent in nearly every game to lose only 3-5 times a year and keep his big salary.

and he should have. Gaudet has never bunted at any level in his life.
Which was my point. If PM wanted to bunt there, he should have pinch hit for Gaudet.

quote:

thats exactly why you should in that situation. you sacrifice Gibbs, let Dean hit(your best RBI guy for like 3 straight years). if they walk Dean, you let Nola go to work.
Dean was on first base. He walked. Gibbs was batting behind him IIRC. The game was on the line, you put the bat in your best hitters hands. Giving up an out by sacrificing Gibbs means you lose the best hitter who is due to come up to hit. And I know you can't say what would have happened had Gibbs bunted, but the two hitters behind Gibbs both popped out, which means had the same thing happened except Gibbs had bunted.... you still don't score a run. Only know you didn't score while taking the bat out of the hands of one of your best hitters.

has any national championship team had the amount of GOOD luck that that team had? We would get to #1 then lose to a crappy middle of the road SEC team. How many other 2 loss teams have been in title games in the past 20-25 years?

Dunno, but my guess is zero.

Instead of dwelling on the 2 losses (which everyone had in 2007), how bout you try and prove to us all why LSU was not the best team in the country in 2007? Considering that's kinda what the National Title is all about. How come we never hear "LSU was lucky because **** was the best team that year"?

quote:

If you want to pretend like that team was some powerhouse because they had two good running backs, go right ahead.

All I said was they were 8-5 in the best conference in football. In your opinion, that's a shitty team, to me they're just average. Agree to disagree I guess.
quote:

Casey Dick was possibly the worst starting QB in the SEC in a long long time.

His QB rating never fell below 125 from 06-08. Again, to me that's average. Seems like you're just trying to make an average/decent team look horrible to make your argument look better.

consumed with hatred for a guy who has gone 51-15 over the past 5 years, with two SEC West titles, an SEC title, two BCS bowl wins and a national championship.

This mantra from all you Sunshine Pumpers is getting old and worn out. Come up with something else. What's our record the last TWO years? Last TWO years. Last TWO years. That's all that matters. We're firmly implanted in second place behind and the Gumps in the S.E.C. West. That's good enough for all you cheerleaders, huh?........

There's a difference between discussing and bashing. I think it's to strong on both sides. Not much happening in the middle.

You can have strong opinions, but we go waaay past it on the rant.

Personally, I would not have a problem with telling anyone the way I feel about something in which I am passionate.

Then please, PLEASE, let us all know a date and time that you will walk up to CLM and tell him just what you said here. I would pay real money to watch what happened when you did. Too bad you are just another internet badass who would never follow through with it. Unless of course you did it from 20 feet away and then ran away after you said it.

I don't know who is trying to "enforce" anything. There are some of us on here who disagree with name-calling and demeaning our coaches, especially those who have won national championships for our school. No one can stop you from acting like a spoiled child because our coaches aren't perfect or because you prefer a predecessor who is never coming back.

But just like I can stop you from acting like an assclown, you can't stop me from portraying the opposite side of the argument. As the thread title says, "This is a discussion forum."

First off, I was not responding to you with this post, so if you felt the need to respond (like such an adult), it must have hit home a bit. Now go bury you head in the horseshite you keep shoveling.

Based on your silly response, you must be a pimpled faced child that can not possible fathom that a person is able to express their views regardless of whether the other person is of SUPPOSED physical or social status?
