This would have been the 2nd best performance of last year. This team has improved without a doubt

Yeah right, we ended up with just 303 yards of total offense, which was worse than last year's spectacular 112th performance in total offense.

They need to listen to the man. He's not a great coach for no reason. THIS is what they need. In the 4th quarter.

proper tackling technique? ronnie prude demonstrates the "Saban Sled" technique. not only does it not bother the offensive player, but it gives him time to check the sideline markers.

Les might have a want to look at that video. To expect his players to dominate their opponent for 60 minutes seems about as far away as another galaxy in the Les game strategy.

Yea...I can't visualize Les, with the same passion, telling his players to dominate their asses and make them want to quit...but isn't that a serious component of coaching....PASSION AND MOTIVATION.

This game was over folks. Quit acting like the sky is falling. We drubbed their arse for 50 minutes, they have to learn to finish.

I saw some really good things and some things I did not like. Hard to win when you fumble the ball 4 times, one of which was on the UNC 8 yard line and another one would have sealed the deal and LSU would have run the clock out without all the last second drama. Or have 14 points taken off the board because of penalties. Or SEC refs making some really piss poor calls....again! There was indeed a lot of good in this game but you have to admit, there was some bad. Laughing, joking, kicking it on the sidelines with 10 minutes to go was not cool to me. As you pointed out, a lot of this can be fixed. What I did find disturbing though was how UNC got in a groove and moved the chains on us by throwing the ball on our secondary. The coaches got mad at several starters and put in some younger players and they got exposed as well. Our secondary, a strength on this team, got worked over in the 4th quarter and gave up 93 and 88 yard bombs that went for td's. I think what most LSU fans are sick of are all these tight games that we have to sweat out the endings! Our blood pressure goes through the roof week after week, year after year since Miles has taken over. It's time LSU starts to beat some teams asses and only have 2 or 3 close games that go down to the wire because I think the entire fanbase is sick and tired of winning and losing games in the last minute of each and every game. Honestly, when is the last time LSU really just beat the hell out of anyone for 60 minutes? I'm guessing Auburn last year. I can understand some close games but not every game and the excuses are growing old.

(This game was over folks.)

The game is never over until there is no time on the clock!
If you didn't see that last night you may need to look over it again!

I went back and looked for a hold on TBob on Ridley touchdown and I don't see it. I watched it several times.

In the prediction thread last week someone said that Les would find a way to make it closer than it should be. Damned if he didnt.

Holding penalties, fumbles, and a few poorly ran routes/dropped balls killed us.

I would not have changed the game plan in the second half, but player execution was the main reason it was closer than it should have been.

If we can eliminate the stupid mistakes we will be very good this year.

He grabbed a snip of jersey and it was a bad call. LSU should have been running away with a 27 point lead but the refs aren't the reason it was close.

Next week I think we'll see some Michael Ford

Absolutely this. Our offense isn't going to be dominant but unlike last year.. it will be adequate. We just have to avoid turnovers and get Jefferson in 3rd and shorts as often as possible.

We will see if playing so sloppy against better teams will catch up to us or not. This was not a very good UNC team. I don't think these problems will just disappear. I think this will be a similar team to the last 2 years. This is gonna be a frustrating team when we face better competition.

This UNC team even with a depleted defense was a middle-bottom of the road SEC team. (Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss St). What worries me is that we were up 20 points with 10 minutes to go in the game.. and that they crumbled.

The last 10 minutes of the game is the only area of the game that bothers me even a little bit. If we can be more consistent and play like we did (minus the turnovers) for the first 3 quarters.. we'll be in the SECCG this year.

As above.. just like us against Ole Miss last year.. UNC got lucky and LSU got complacent. Can't happen again. If it does I'mma

We were also a dropped touchdown pass away from being down 14-7 in the second quarter. We're putting too many eggs in one basket on the back of a player with cramping problems.

Penalties, turnovers, and youth in the secondary on defense. First game of the season. They will improve. Geaux LSU.
