Let’s hope Bishop emerges as a back up and he’s able to run the point.

I was hoping he and Manning would provide more outside shooting help.

It’s early, and I remember how slow Naz started out last year. Bishop, Manning, snd Wafford will all improve.

I think Wade is going to have to start trusting him more and the time to do it is NOW. He can't have Mays playing 38 minutes a game. Wade mentioned he wanted to play Bishop more going into the VCU game, but I think the flow of the game made him gun-shy to do so and he stuck with the guy he was comfortable with, Mays. That's understandable. But now the schedule is a little bit lighter with no one who is going to pressure LSU that much in that kind of environment. Starting Sat. I'd like to see Bishop get at least 10-15 minutes per game subbing in for Smart and/or Mays

I hope Hyatt can get his shot going. He got some rebounds last night but his 3 pt shot is his weapon. Still a second year freshman though. Also, we’re going to need Bishop this season. I understand why he didn’t play more yesterday but Smart and Mays need rest. His development is important looking ahead at the potential of losing Mays and Smart for next season.

Defensively they are still, at best, inconsistent. To allow at team like VCU, who isn't a great offensive or shooting team to score 84, even at home, is not good.

I see what you are saying, and I agree that LSU may not have been great on defense last night; but they were certainly solid, as the 84 is a bit misleading. LSU held VCU to 41% fg and 32% from 3. Those numbers are avg at best. Where VCU ramped up the scoring was having too many easy baskets and too many opportunities due to LSU turnovers, especially the live ball turnovers where it is harder to get the defense set up. They also had 23 of their points from the line as I think we can all agree that the officials got a bit carried away with the foul calling.

I too want to see LSU better at defense and agree this team will need to be better; but for the second game of season with new pieces to the puzzle and player rotations thrown out of whack, I think they actually played pretty well despite what the scoreboard said.

Dont care. Once in a lifetime football team is more exciting.

Your kind of fan is the absolute worst on here.

Do you somehow think that by caring about how the basketball team does and watching a game somehow takes away from what the football team is doing? Or that you somehow won’t be able to care as much about the football team?

Don’t be a freaking moron!

It was disappointing but to come back from a huge double-digit deficit says a lot about this team's future. I also liked the business-like attitude. It wasn't emotional, hot-headed street ball. They do need to move the ball around more and let some of our three-point shooters have a better chance. I am still very excited about this year.
