This Basketball Team Hates Me

I’m working late and following along on Twitter/checking the box score on the ESPN app and I see we’re on a run and extending our lead by a good margin. Missing the Will Wade days and not wanting to miss out on the fun, I turn the game on and we immediately give up a run to OM and it’s a single digit game. So being a good fan, I see I’m the problem and I turn it off and go back to working. A little while later, I check the score again and we’re up double digits with like 3 minutes to go. So I turn it back on and we immediately miss a layup, give up an and 1, turn it over, and give up another layup and it’s a 7 point game. So I turn it back off. I wait until I’m sure the game is over and check the box score to see we won!

This isn’t the first time this has happened this season either. I did the same song and dance during the Texas game. Every time we’d claw back into it, I’d turn it on and Texas would go on a run.

There was a game earlier in the year against maybe Dayton where I saw we had a lead late, turned the game on and we give up a big lead in the last few minutes and lose.

It’s also happened in some other games too. I have yet to be able to watch an LSU basketball game because every time I turn on the TV we suck and every time I turn it off, we’re awesome.

I am a team first guy so I will refrain from watching the rest of the way and just follow on Twitter and with the gamecast on the ESPN app but I sure would like to actually watch this team play good basketball.
