And we now see the OP construct a strawman for him to be able to view himself as the “winner” of this debate

Meh. IMO it’s exposed who some of these young men really are. Some will certainly get by on God given talent. Others will flail but cash in at a few short stops. But this is what makes guys like Harold Perkins soooooo beloved by a fan base. He’s part of the rare crew (Campbell and Emory among others certainly included) that don’t make the money priority one. As evident with Perkins not picking up checks for weeks. I’d say part of that is he’s more concerned with achieving his bigger goals whatever they may be. At least we as a fan base get to experience that through the years. It’s what makes college football the best damn sport on the planet.

I know right? I miss when they were supposed to be playing for either nothing or having to illegally accept money while the university, SEC, and TV networks made millions.
