I tell you he could start a great nest egg retirement for his side of the story with SI or CBSSN man people would read or glue themselves to the tube for the answer

I am on record against Miles' treatment of Lee. To me, the biggest things is this respective to last night...
You have a national title on the line and a QB that is very obviously not performing (for whatever reason, be it scheme, mental aptitude, whatever)...you have Lee on the bench who has given reason not to trust him against Bama (but also led LSU to a 9-0 start) and you have Mettenberger on the bench who will supposedly be the best thrower since Jamarcus in just 7.5 months.
In that scenario, it truly is do or die. In the 3rd quarter, even if not Lee, a QB sub should have been made. We only had the national title to lose, which was clearly going to happen if we stayed the course (and ultimately did happen in embarrassing fashion).
If you don't trust Lee, put Mettenberger in the game. Two years ago, a true freshman at Texas almost beat Bama when McCoy went out. Why not give someone, anyone, a chance to win the NATIONAL F'N CHAMPIONSHIP?!?!

Could it have been that Lee did not want to play again? Maybe that is why the team was distant? Lee never really seemed to mind that much that he wasn't playing.

Not getting in the coach's face or crying to the media does not equeal not wanting to play. I assure you, JL wanted to play.

I have been maintaining something went on and Miles just will not say to protect Lee. Someone posed last night that according to a Mile insider Lee has a mental issue with competing for the QB position. He is fine when there is no competition. Have no idea if true.

JL didn't play well against bama and we know that when he was pressed, he got happy feet and threw picks. Don't get me wrong, i think he should have been given a chance but we shouldn't totally discount what clm said. There's some truth to it. But, how we could just go all the way down with that horrible performance last night and not make a single adjustment is something i can't come to grips with yet. I'm in shock still.

No way. When the camera would pan on Lee on the sideline, he had that same look on his face that my black lab gets when she knows I'm about to feed her, waiting for the second I put her food bowl down to dive in.

OK..just a thought. Something will come out. Those boys are close, but if JL didn't want to play anymore, it will come out. That is the only "logical" reason I can come up with.

I just keep thinking that Lee objected strongly (to Les Miles' face) to having been taken out of the starting line up. Maybe he said some things in the heat of the moment? It's a crude comparison but sort of like when Mett called his own number on the naked bootleg against Ole Piss. Miles hated this shite and made sure we didn't score. Just speculation folks.

That's one of the most logical possible reasons I've seen.
Lee definitely wanted to play last night - he said as much in his interview. The way he kept stretching on the sideline, he was ready. I got my hopes way up when I saw that.

I think if JJ does not get into that bar fight JL never gets on the field this year. Less was forced to play JL. All I can say is I am glad JJ is gone. Josh Booty and Jammy Howard move over because JJ is now the worst QB at LSU ever.

Our whole party cheered when they showed Lee apparently readying to go into the game.

Miles gave him the chance to take the last snap in the SECCG...Lee should have told him to kiss his arse.

There were rumors that Lee was inelligible..
Can someone clear something up for me? If a player was inelligible, would he still dress out and stand on the sideline for every game he's rumored to be inelligible?

That is what he "would" say in order to save face. He would put on an act. He would never say he didn't want to play anymore..at least not to the press and Miles probably told him that he would keep it quiet. Don't get me wrong..I like Lee and think that he should have been able to play..a lot more than he did..just can not make sense of this. He may or may not have made the pros, but he got hit pretty good a couple of times, and maybe he decided that he didn't like that too much. I'm just sayin...

Us too.
I don't buy the whole Lee not going to class as the reason either. I mean, Les isn't going to completely screw one of his players for making a mistake (see JJ incident).
And I really think it was more than just playing the better player because of the way he put Lee in only to take a knee in the SECCG. That was pretty cold.
Someone mentioned that by doing that Lee would be on record as having played in that game. But if that's what it was about, then why not make sure his name went down in the books as having played in the BCSNCG?

yeah, the "right" brain of the Head Coach
Posted on 1/10/12 at 3:32 pm to girlslikefootball2
He definitely didn't like getting hit (who would) but dude wanted to play, no doubt. Did you see him stretching on the sidelines?
And having his helmet on the whole time? Why would he do that? If I had to guess I'd say a helmet is not a comfortable thing. Lots of players take them off as soon as they leave the field.
ETA: He knew he was playing football, been playing a long time. He got hit hard as a freshman and kept playing. So I don't buy that as a reason for him to want to quit.

Wow, good insight.
Brando believes he only put Lee in the
SECCG to prove he did not have academic problems and was an eligible player
Put your idea with this one it is even makes your question more plausible
