The wildcat is only for teams without a decent normal offense.

That's dumb.

Also, every time I've seen the real wildcat run, the player in the WR position comes into motion, though I disagree that this is the sole purpose of the offense.

I thought it was called "wildcat" because Gus M,named it so, because it was a revised K-State Offense that he revised at Arkansas. Hence "Wildcat" in honor of K-state.There was a good article on that last year if someone can pull it up.

This.

UF is going to run teh Wildcat this season. They really don't have an effecient, DECENT offense, right?

fwiw, crowton's worst play of his LSU career was 2nd and halfback run against bama in OT

Zealot, you are the man!!

I've said that exact sentence dozens of times on this board.

We're having success running the ball.

Lee is having an AWFUL day.

1st down, Scott runs up the gut for 5 yards.

2nd and 5. Why on God's green Earth would you get fancy and call that stupid wildcat with Murphy, I will never know.

The bankers, investment brokers and agents of Darren McFadden, Patrick Hillis and Felix Jones respectfully disagree.

The wildcat doesn't HAVE to have a man in motion

quote:

The wildcat is an offensive package rather than an offense, in that it uses the same pre-snap motion coming across the formation on every play in the package and every play initially looks like a sweep behind zone blocking. However, after the snap several things may happen once the motion man crosses the player receiving the snap.
