No way in hell those same bad umpires would have made those questionable calls if we were playing somewhere else.

We play in the SEC where poor umpiring is the norm. We should be used to it. We shouldn't accept it but we should be used to it.

Man...I'll do better. Might not be much help with the veggies though. Deer and rain have killed me this year.

No I think you're being a but of a homer, list some calls that we didn't get, or that Houston was gifted.

The only legit gripe is that the strike zone was all over the place and in no way consistent, pitches Lemoine got Nola didn't and pitches Nola got Lemoine didn't. The zone was a flat out joke, but it went both ways.

The only other real crime was our base running, that was scary bad.

hey stevie, do you know how to post to the person that you're responding to and trying to act superior to? kinda funny that you're doing the same thing that you're admonishing someone else about. if you're directing to me, please elaborate.
yes, I'm old, uneducated and don't use capital letters since obammer was elected. you have a problem with that too?

I hardly ever complain about umpires because I don't want to be a homer, but last night drove me crazy. I was literally trying to remember one questionable call that went in our favor and I can't remember one. It seems to happen to us fairly often, but I thought last night was truly egregious. Does anyone share my anger or am I just getting old??

Not sure I'd agree with your specific/exact sentiments as they relate to "close calls", and us not getting them, as they were just exactly that - close calls.

However, your basic premise - that last night's umpires sucked - is spot on. Dude behind the plate had as wonky a strike zone as you'll ever see. Wonky in and of itself isn't even all that bad, but when it's INCONSISTENTLY wonky, that's problem.

I forget which LSU player it was, but someone got punched out on a questionable called strike three, and when he walked out of the box/back to the dugout, he was demonstratively pissed at the call. You pretty much only see that kind of reaction when the ump is horrible, and the guy behind the plate last night was definitely that.

Hell, we had one better damn near get hit by a called strike.

Holler some time during the week beginning June 16/let's catch up.

Shoot me a text/got new phone/lost contacts.

I'm out of the office this whole week coming up, then headed to New York Friday 6th, back Thursday 12th, then headed to Big Lake the Friday 13th after we get back from NY. Back in town/around for a while June 16th forward. I got some cool stuff going on to tell you about.

If you listen to Hawthorne and watch the game, he'll convince you that every call that doesn't go our way is awful. He went nuts when Laird was tagged OUT at first last night..saying it was one of the most awful calls ever. It was the right call.

I also do not know how so many fans can boo when half of the crowd is facebooking, instagramming, and texting.

There was a very inconsistent strikezone and he was squeezing Nola in that second inning. Still, it worked to our advantage as well.
