Being WR U has to do with players in the NFL not talented players in college.

alright, put up ur best 4 guys in the nfl last year.
heres lsu:
86 catches 1022 yards 7TDs
32 catches 793 yards 3TDs
56 catches 597 yards 1TD
38 catches 464 yards 1TD
I was curious to see the comparison, so I looked it up... I knew the florida fig wouldn't.
Here's "WR U's" production in the NFL in 2008
47 catches 424 yards 4 TDs
38 catches 468 yards 2 TDs
15 catches 141 yards 0 TD
12 cateches 190 yards 1 TD
ETA: Hall of Famers Ike Hilliard and Reche Caldwell... did espn search nfl players by college and they weren't on the list so I looked tehm up separately.

I think if we clarify what we are trying to compare, college stats/accolades vs. NFL stats we might get somewhere in this discussion

i think you forgot ike hilliard
eta: and reche caldwell
eta: theres still no comparison tho

How many were first round draft picks?

damn that list is terrible, and how could i forget about Reed who im pretty sure was an All-American considering he won the Biletnikoff(sp.), and hell he has prlly been in the league half the time of Hilliard so lets not consider him old

I was asking how many from LSU?
Posted on 5/3/09 at 10:08 am to G8TRGRT
2 whole players who amounted to anything in the NFL
Talk about Wide Receiver U. The bust percentage for Florida is incredible. Two out of 11 players haven't been complete failures.
If we are just looking at NFL stats, here are the LSU players: Bowe is the best receiver from either school. Anyone who debates this is a moron or a relative of one of the other receivers.
Kennison was inconsistent throughout his career, but with 548 receptions and 42 touchdowns he has by far the best career of anyone involved including Jackson and Hilliard.
Clayton and Reed have not become superstars by any means, but they are the 5th and 6th best receivers on any objective list
1) Bowe
2) Kennison (best lifetime stats)
3) Hilliard
4) D. Jackson
5) Clayton
6) Reed

As I have stated before, no one would dare compare the college production and accolades because they know that there is no discussion in that aspect. People on here are LSU Tiger fans not NFL fans. The topic is college WR not NFL. That's like me taking away from Glynn Dorsey as being a great college DL because he hasn't transitioned well to the NFL. HE still was a great college DT.

Fla. has better herb than the pros.. helps with their vision

but when you say WR U, to a person it means school that turns out NFL receivers, so you need to clarify yourself.

the problem was that you called us all haters for saying florida wrs are usually busts. if you had just taken this stance then it probably wouldnt have escalated this far

If we are talking about college production, some gimmick offense would have the best stats. So I guess Mount Union, Hawaii, Texas Tech, or maybe BYU would be Wide Receiver U.
Also, only you would compare Dorsey who had a decent rookie campaign (though not one worthy of a top 5 pick) with a complete bust like Reidel Anthony. Talk about comparing apples with razorblades.

For some reason you guys think football just started the last 10 to 15 years. The article does clearly state that it goes back further than that. So let's start there. I will go Wes Chandler and Chris Collinsworth for starters. Now this will be interesting.
