If you haven’t figured out by now that these recruiting rankings don’t mean all that much there’s not much I can say.

Most kids pledge to a school abd sign early. A lot can happen between their sophomore years and senior years. Then once they get to the SEC they really have to work and improve.

Now I’m not saying our coaches are maxing out our players. They aren’t, but we have had several poor classes prior to this last one. That’s where we are hurting.

rKansas is just more talented. It is sad that this is what it has come to.

Doesn’t matter if we have less talent or worse coaching. Both falls on Mainieri.

Do you realize we are starting 7 freshman. Not a lot of time to “develop” them so far.

Why is a NC coach, in his 14th year at LSU having to start 7 Freshman??

All the issues mentioned, including yours, falls on Coaching!

Oh, but don’t forget “We are young”. Even though there was no season last year and Maineiri has had 2 years to assemble this team.

AND, for anyone who thinks there is no talent difference just take a look at our Pitching Staff vs Arkansas/Vandy/Damn Near any other SEC Team.
But hey, we are competitive with the SWAC.

For those questioning the talent.... go look at the last 3-5 recruiting rankings for LSU vs the rest of the SEC

talented team that is properly developed

This. We have top-5 recruiting classes every year, but players at other schools develop and improve. Our coach only moves around positions and tinkers with line-up cards.

CPM acts like a manager not a coach. We need a teacher and a motivator. Instead we have CPM.

College sports is 90% all about talent.

You are kidding yourself if you really believe that.
It took Cain several years to start recruiting better talent. We had a run of ordinary talent. No catchers, first basemen or middle infielders to speak of. Pitchers who were front line were few.
That’s the number one reason we are so bad. Recruiting

Every issue mentioned (no talent, development of talent, starting 7 freshman) falls on coaching.

Hopefully the coach we hire next will be able to recover all this talent on the mound, and get in a better hitting/third base coach. Never seen more strike outs and baserunning gaffes in my life.

The Maineri Era is coming to a close. There is talent for the next coach to work with.
