We have talent. That’s not the issue

Our issue is coaching that talent and developing it

Talent is not a big difference. Confidence is the issue.

Nope. The talent based on everyone who judges talent for a living is completely the same when they arrive on campus. Now what do you think happens after that. .........

Yep

It’s not even close. They’ve beaten us both games so far with dick high fastballs too... we either take them or just roll over every time. It’s tough to watch.

When a talented team that isn’t properly developed plays a talented team that is properly developed then a talent gap is created. It’s physics

6-9 in the order has been a black hole for the most part all year, talent would be evident with number of games played to date. PM has a limited number of impact players as the roster stands and still should have 2-3 more SEC wins with what he has and much lower number of totally non-competitive losses. Losing a game when up 9-1 in the 8th with 4 outs to get speaks volumes as to the pitching depth.

Also, the "COACHING TALENT" discrepancy is obvious!

I mean you really got to hand it to Arkansas. That’s a great club with some really great players. —Paul

Arkansas has better players and are very well coached. Their kids know their roles and execute their roles with confidence.

We have a couple of pitchers with roles. We have some you g guys with talent figuring things out. And we have some potential and the coaches and players are sll trying to figure out what their roles are and if they are good enough to compete.

If you use national rankings the same way for baseball as you do football then there isn’t a talent disparity/gap. At least not 1-9. Crews, Doughty, Thompson were all top 50 nationally ranked players regardless of position. Tre Morgan is another one that could have easily signed high. Dugas, Milazzo, and Gio are also guys that would be the equivalent to “high 4 stars.” Pitching is where it falls off a bit but Marceaux and Floyd were both guys that were top 10 pitchers nationally and then you have a bunch of guys that haven’t pitched up to their ranking. 3 straight top 5 recruiting classes. It’s coaching/development period. Manure and Dunn need to be shown the door.

Do you realize we are starting 7 freshman. Not a lot of time to “develop” them so far.

Out of those 9 players you mentioned, only 2 of them had played an SEC game before this year.

Why are they starting seven freshmen? Why do we have the worst bullpen in SEC history.? Manieri has been here FOURTEEN years. He has not done his job. His arse needs to be fired. You don't coach at LSU cause you own the job. You coach there if you deserve the job. This year is disgraceful.

The top of the order gets mowed down fairly frequently as well.

Sounds like a recruiting issue

I hope we can retain most of them if this in fact Paul’s last year. There are reasons to be optimistic with or without CPM. Despite the emotional rants of the half drunk fans here. But realistically he is paid to win. And this is the 4th consecutive year with a team that really doesn’t show signs of being competitive past a regional. They could win a lot next year if a few pieces develop, but that hasn’t been the trend of late.
