Is it just me, or has it really been getting pussified the past couple of years? Ever since they raised the standards for LSU academics this has happened. It seems after 2004 is when it started going downhill. Anyone else agrees?

I went from 2003-2007. My only opinion is, and I could be wrong, is that the student section used to be pretty hell bent for even lesser opponents. Now, it seems to be up for the big games only. But I could be wrong, old, washed up, over the hill at 25.

They were able to make the WVU QB line up under his guard. Doesn't sound pussyfied to me.

I think it has more to do with how fair-weather LSU fans have been since the two NCs. It's more of a social event now, not people actually going to watch and participate in a game.

LSU football was a lot more exciting when I was in the student section (05-08). I'm sure that has something to do with it...

It definitely has gotten to be more about getting hammered then participating in the game for 4 quarters. Not that I have a thing against getting shithoused. Real hard to get drunk, sober up a bit at the game, then hit the gas again.

I went from 01-05 in undergrad and then from 06-09 grad school. I believe it may be a combination of how spoiled we currently are (myself included), the fact that we have more day games (not enough time to drink), the MUCH stricter checks the police do for "bombs" after 911, and the fact that student tickets seemed much harder to get after we started having great success. That lead to people, who really dont give a crap about football, to start coveting the tickets and going to the games to see what the fuss was about.

As a whole though I dont hear TOO much of a decline in noise, especially for the big games. Lets not forget UF in 07 and 09- two of the loudest games I have been to in that stadium.

Aging myself, but we rocked Tiger Stadium as students for the 97 Florida game.

I obviously wasn't in the student section then, but I was at that game. One of my favorite memories of being in Tiger Stadium.

Watching old games, especially from the early 90s makes it seem like there was MUCH more alcohol involved. Perhaps because of the quality of football we were playing under Hallman

=

More Drinks thrown after the few and far between TDs and louder noise for the few pivital plays that occurred.

yes, i was a freshman in 2000 and had four sets of tickets. the student section was wild! i remember when i would wreak the smells of whiskey, when cups and bottles flew everytime we scored. that all stopped in 2002. if you can recall, in the fall of 2000, we rushed the field 3 times!!!! never will happen again, ever, and i am glad that i was a part of history!
