If you are referring to the offense after November 5th

well, to be fair, games 10-12 were the highest yardage and point totals on the year. it was 13 and 14 where it went to shite.

The ONLY way we beat Bama in the NC was for us to roll the dice and let JJ pass deep
They only tried it twice and then stopped. Fail.

We dropped from 13th in offense to 26th in two games and the games were w. kentucky and ole miss.
There was only one game in which LSU gained more yards than those two games. And that game was the third game that Jefferson started in the regular season.

The three regular season games that Jefferson started, the three regular season games after the November 5th Alabama game, were the three best offensive games of the season.

LSU's best passing game happened when Jefferson started.

LSU's best rushing game happened when Jefferson started.

LSU's best total offense game happened when Jefferson started.

Jefferson's three regular season starts were the three best offensive games of the season.

The SEC champ. game was over until our defense scored a TD to give a spark of life to the team.
The score was 35-10 before the defense scored any points.

I suppose you are attempting to refer to Mathieu's punt return. So you are saying that the game was OVER in the second quarter?

I suppose you will also suggest that the FOUR offensive touchdowns in the second half had no affect on the momentum of the game.

The LSU staff saw Jefferson and Lee in practice everyday. The fans saw them for about thirty minutes a week. The LSU staff saw how both QBs reacted to an elite defense everyday. The LSU staff had the best knowledge as to how each would react against an elite defense. Indeed, the LSU staff had "specific knowledge" about each QB's abilities.

The best thing that ever happened to Lee is when the LSU staff with their specific knowledge gave the edge to Jefferson. The backup QB will always be the most beloved player on the team. Lee gets to benefit from the Kennedy Effect for the rest of his life.

Compare regular season numbers. Jefferson had better passing numbers than Lee: higher Completion %, higher QB Rating, higher YPA, lower Interception %. And that's not even mentioning how much Jefferson improved the team's rushing attack.

Post-season numbers cannot be compared. Jefferson played in the Championship games. Lee didn't.

And as bad as that game was, and it was bad, it wasn't as bad as Lee's game against Alabama.

QB Rating: 14.51
3 of 7 (42.86%)
Interceptions: 2

Another turning point no one is mentioning is our special teams failed us.
LSU needed a big play on special teams like a punt or KO return, or maybe a turnover or big defensive play.
We never got it.

Instead, Wing hits a long punt to Maze, but way too low, and LSU gave up its first punt return of the season.

Yet another turning point was on our first possession of the third quarter. JJ hit OBJ with a decent intermediate sideline completion, then promptly stands in the pocket like a tree stump on the very next play and takes a long sack..

We were screwed if we put our other limited QB in too! JL would have panicked in the face of Bama's rush and would have been a turnover machine. Just look at what Bama did to him in game one! We beat Bama in Nov. because they game planned for JL. They weren't ready for the speed option, and we scratched out a win.

By this logic we should have played JL in the second half because they game planned for JJ.
