The problem is Cam - and here's proof

Look at all the QBs that he has coached in the past:
Jim Harbaugh, Trent Green, Gus Frerotte, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Joe Flacco..............
All Pro style QBs.
His only success at LSU? Zach Mettenberger in his Sr. year - another Pro style QB who he had time to develop. The coach has to match the student. Cam has never had experience developing dual threat QBs and yet, we keep recruiting them. Why don't we get a pro style QB who can fit his scheme? It takes a completely different skill set to coach all Pro QBs than it does to develop a high school kid who's never taken a snap under center. Cam's schemes only work if you have a solid offensive line that can give the QB time to throw and if you have a QB who is accurate. We have neither - hence the situation we've been in ever since Mettenberger left.
Etling may be a better match for Cam's schemes - let's get him in there.

I agree. Cammy Cam and Les need to geaux

He had Antwine Randel El
Posted on 9/8/16 at 5:22 pm to TigerFan244
He was the OC for the best offense Miles has ever had.
Also, Im not saying Cam is great, but he was at the least competent enough to hold an OC position in the NFL. Even if its half a season, that should be far more than enough to know he'd have average coaching ability at the college level.
AGAIN, its Les fricking Miles.
I'm tired of this blame game anywhere else, its excruciatingly annoying because you people insist on blaming people who have NO CONTROL OVER THIS.
Its Les Miles and the system he puts in place. His coaches coach based on the system. They can teach individual skills, but when it comes to plays, they are taught the system, and Cam Cameron is told to create out of the system given to him. If he's given shite, the only thing he can make out of shite is....MORE shite.
Not Cam.
Not Harris.
Not the OL.
Not Dupre.
Stop stop, please make it stop.

Cam needs an NFL QB to run his system.

But... our offense has looked the same through 4 or 5 offensive coordinators. Doesn't that point to Les being the problem?

Also, now that I've read this post.

High school QB's 9/10 times are running out of the sprread in a shotgun formation.
LSU was taking the snap under center before Cam got to LSU. I'm guessing you just started watching this year?

You could say the same thing about Miles - all of his best offenses have been with pro style QBs, and that fits with his power running / play action offense.
I don't know why he keeps going after duel threat QBs.

well, he was fired from his previous job and I don't think it was the first time either

Mett had 1 class his last year and spent rest of time studying film like a pro. His system might be too hard for college

I understand Cam has been fired at every job he has ever had, but his offenses did not look like this in the NFL.
If he produced what LSU produces each week, he wouldn't make it past 1 week in the league without being fired.
It's Miles.
And does anyone think Les could be an NFL OC? Ninja please...

An NFL QB who can complete 19-21.

I find it extraordinarily difficult to believe that 4 consecutive OCs were so in love with the toss dive.

Yes. Cam received players who were already developed, or developed Pro Set QB's....Antwan Handle El was the exception, but he was just a freak of nature who would excel in any system.

I'm tired of this fricking bullshite. It means NOTHING to be fired in the NFL once. Cam Cameron at least HAD AN NFL job. He was HC of an NFL team...think about that for one second....do you really think he can't coach an offense yet he was an OC in the NFL for years? I tend to think the NFL guys saw SOMETHING in him to even try and hire him in the first place.
Spurrier was fired from the NFL.
Bill Belichick was fired from the NFL.
Pete Carroll was fired from the NFL.
Sean Payton in his own biography says he would have been fired from the New York Giants.
quote:
While Payton was still ostensibly in charge of the offense, his role in the team was clearly diminished and had he not been hired away by the Dallas Cowboys, he likely would have been fired.

Sounds like recruiting problem.
BTW, our 'dual threat' QB is barely a single threat. He had 1 actual run last week.
