At the depths of putridity during the Troy game, the offensive line was horrid, the quarterback missed a wide open running back in the flat (that one sticks out from the rest of the poor plays), the defensive line was non existent, many defensive players were out of position to make a play and missed tackles when they did get a hand on the ball carrier.
This past weekend the line blocked better (still a glaring weakness), the quarterback threw catchable balls to the running backs who gouged big yardage, the defensive line played better, defensive players were better at getting in position to make plays and missed fewer tackles.
Getting back our studs from injured reserve is helping and I am liking how the younger players are maturing into much better football players. Leaders like Devin White emerged to let players know that there are expectations for how one plays at LSU and what they had been doing was not up to par with those expectations. The game plans are much better and better executed. I'm really excited to see how we play out the rest of the season.

There has been A LOT of improvement on the defense - especially in being in the right position - our safeties were really struggling earlier in the year.

We're getting healthy - Arden is looking better - Rashard makes a big difference - need Alexander back too.

The Oline is really coming together - Sadhiq looks good on the edge - we're still missing assignments, but with all of the shifting going on I think our young linemen are ahead of the curve.

Bama is a bully. They're told how great they are non-stop. We have to punch them right in the mouth, like Marquise said. We have enough talent to do it and I think we have the leadership to do it. You rock that chin hard enough, the bully starts to doubt he wants it. We are long over due.

I don't know about yall but it seems to the play calling on both sides of the ball are very different since Troy.

Now there seems to be a sense or urgency unlike before

I mean...wasn’t it discussed for weeks, on this board, that Orgeron was told to get out of the way and let the coordinators control things after the Troy game. No sources to link, but wouldn’t that, combined with a few now healthy guys, explain the difference?

Of course. When things go bad it's all on O. When things go good it's cause he got the frick outa the way.

Not only that but guys that should have stepped up from the beginning in leadership roles finally have. They seem to be playing inspired ball the last couple of weeks. Not sure who or what happened but, I like it.

We had a huge amount of penalties the weeks prior to the Troy game. CEO tried to cut back on penalties the first half of the Troy game and it really hurt our points production compared to the second half when we did what Canada wanted as far as pre-snap shifts. I hope that he learned his lesson and will continue to let the man earn his paycheck to run the offense.

Yeah the O line really does seem to be working better each week. Hopefully we have the pieces in the right place now and can get them used to their assignments without any more injuries. I did see our guys get blown back off the line of scrimmage by the defensive line of Ole Miss a little more than I would have liked. I'm wondering if the proper techniques are being taught by the O-line coach like our defensive guys are being taught by Jenkins.
