46 people actually are for extending O’s contract? Seriously? Why? What’s the hurry?

Saban generates over 100 million in revenue winnign 5 NCs and is never going to be fired.

If Ed wins 1 NC I would say with everyone else that we should pay the man.

“Business as usual”

Just like paying Butch Jones 8.5 Million in a buyout, or McElwain 7.5 in an ”deal” or owing Sumlin 10.4 million.

Getting ducked by coaching contracts is normal.

I love the unquestioned deference that the sheep of this board afford anyone in an executive position, as if they must be qualified for those positions simply because they have the job.

Grammar and spelling aside, people measure "earns it" by different standards. In the final polls, LSU outperformed roughly 95% of all teams. LSU also made it to NY6 bowl game and won. Some would say that "earns it."

Others will say it's CFP or nothing. I'd submit that one measure is more realistic than the other, for every team not named Clemson or Alabama.

No 7-11s in Baton Rouge, and I assume even the Horseshoe prohibits outside food

There's a 7-11 just off I-55 on route 16. Might be worth the drive if you're really short on snack money.

Keeping it real, LSU IS giving Coach O an extended contract. And all the screaming rants in the universe won't alter that fact in the slightest. NegaTigers lose:( CheriO's win:) Congrats Coach O!

Actually, only LSU stands to “lose” in this instance. I’m not saying they will, but it is a possibility that Orgeron tanks as a head coach and is fired. In which case, LSU is nowon the hook for more money than was necessary.

I’m not completely opposed to the extension. It really doesn’t mean anything to me. It’s not my money. My only argument is when the excuse given for the extension is “you had to for recruiting”. That is a completely false statement as history has shown that a bad coach will and has been fired many times regardless of his contract. So the argument that “it shows stability” is simply inaccurate.

1. You don’t know where anything is in Louisiana.

2. There are no 7-11s in Louisiana

LINK

The address you’re dumb arse googles is a fricking lot in Amite an hour away.

Go post on an Ohio state board, or limit your posting to Burrow threads where your opinion is at least somewhat educated.

Scrimping on the HC's salary isn't fiscal responsibility. 35 Power-5 coaches make more than O. Only a handful of Power-5 coaches had better seasons.

And? That’s not a reason to pay him more when part of the reason he was hired was that he would be paid less than what most others make.

That is only one rationale. There is also the matter of paying a coach the going rate. For a top-10 Power-5 HC that is about 6.1 million.

That "no one else wants O" rap died when LSU finished 6th, and the recruiting took a huge leap forward.

AD's all over the country are looking to save their own jobs by landing an HC that can make their programs relevant again. O is in demand. TITTB.

Lol no he isn't.

We had a good year. We have a good to great recruiting class in the ringer. We can leave it at that without being a complete idiot about it.

Of course I have no idea about 7-11's in Louisiana . My point is that if you're too damn cheap to buy stadium nachos you probably shouldn't be commenting on 7 figure HC salaries.

Pay the man his money. It's coming from boosters and endorsements one way or another - not from cheap bastards like you.

Why pay someone more than you have to?

Unless someone else is making him offers, we don’t have to.

O couldn’t replicate this success at 125/130 schools. LSU has a lot of built in advantages.

It was an established program that’s won NCs more recently than all but 6 other schools.

It’s the only P5 team in a hot bed of talent that also happens to be Os home state.

We are willing to pay huge dollars for assistants and support staff.

About 60 Power-5 programs (out of 65) finished ranked below Orgeron's in recruiting and in final standings. Anyone who wants to pretend Orgeron isn't on dozens of AD's short lists is bullshitting themselves.

Ticket sales makes up 36.2 mill in revenue
Contribution 24 mill

In 2016

Coaching salaries coast 30 million (more now)

The price of tickets and concessions and game day parking and tailgate spots have hit the common man fans the hardest.

As a Ohio State Fan who’s never been to Louisiana or an LSU game, I am Sure you don’t care.

Who?

Lots of coaches were hired and fired this year

Is there 1 article about O being contacted

Link it please

Are there any openings right now that he could even fill?

Nope

Most schools aren’t LSU

Most schools are more like 2005 Ole Miss.

I've been to both. And the Abita Springs Opry has been favorite side-trip for years. Yet again, you don't know what you're talking about.

You don’t know where fricking Amite is.

Pretty much every post you make about LSU outside Burrow is ignorant as shite

Never been there. I was goofing on you for being too damn cheap to buy stadium nachos (if they went up $2). Too funny
