Hopefully the recruitment of qb's will include at a high level, the priorities of pass progression, poise, intelligence, mobility, and an intense competetitor. This sums up the makeup of Joe Burrow.
The new offense will require such assets. Not sure we've had QBs with these attributes in the past. On second thought, we haven't had QBs like this in the past.

Joe is a special QB. He’s very good, but don’t act like we’ve never had good QBs. That’s just dumb and ignorant.

Weve had good QBs in the past.

I think Joe is special, but there have been other special QBS as well.

We just finally have a QB friendly offense and an experienced and confident QB in it.

Jordan jefferson or Brandon harris didnt have the quick decision making needed for this offense. They would have sucked in this offense like they sucked in cam's

Yea LSU has been having a program prior to 2010. Not sure what made you bring up two below average QBs from the last 100 years, but....

It's a lot easier to make decisions quickly when you have more than 1 or 2 receivers running routes.

They wouldn't have been as good as burrow, but they'd have been a whole lot better than they were, especially Harris.

I’m not trying to diss Harris but he just wasn’t good. It’s hard to believe he would have turned into Joe Montana even with this offense.
Accuracy has a lot to do with making this offense work.

Scheme, O-line play, and WR's that can get separation and catch the ball are all factors that contribute to QB performance.

In the past, LSU QB's have had to deal with some if not all of the above listed issues.
It's hard to play the what-if game.

However, I do home that LSU will have successful QB play and succession like we are seeing at Clemson.
Watson -> Bryant -> Lawrence.

Hopefully the new offense is here to stay, and LSU can attract and develop consistent elite QB's.

Because that stretch was terrible. You can add jennings to that too

Fact is, we really got lucky to get Burrow.

Really lucky.

It's not only the system he thrives in, but the fact that he is a very special player as far as being physically gifted with a high football IQ and strong work ethic.

There are some really stellar QBs in college that still aren't in the Heisman conversation. Burrow is a cut above the rest. He's setting a very high bar for what an LSU QB should be.

Through three consecutive games, his play and numbers are nearly flawless.
