don’t have the data in front of me,
No data so this is purely anecdotal. And conjecture.
If the boys were flying off the ball, playing with fire and getting beat, it may very well have some validity…. But right now, whether young or old, talented or out gunned. The style of play SUCKS. They are SOFT.
Last years O-line had a ton of talent. Go back and watch them. They were good at pass blocking, but terrible in run. They never owned the line of scrimmage, they never pushed people off the ball.
They look lost. They don’t know who to block.
If you’re gonna frick up, frick up full speed. They are all playing. Slow like it’s a damn walk through.
Go back to last year…. Everyone talked about how great Will Campbell was.
Go watch film and see how many pancake blocks he made…. Almost none. Never driving anyone off the ball

We had 4 NFL offensive lineman last year, and we still sucked at run blocking. It should be obvious what the issue is.

Unfortunately, with NIL and the transfer portal, that philosophy just doesn’t work now. Guys don’t stay long enough to develop both physically and mentally. So he’s forced to play a mix of talented, but inexperienced and underdeveloped young guys (who are talented, just not ready) and veteran guys he gets from the portal. And that’s not a great recipe for success because they haven’t played together.
Ahh, that’s the reason so many teams are struggling on OL. Good points. Makes sense.

You seem to have misunderstood the point of the post.

Not replacing your two NFL OT's with major transfer portal players was a major fail.
They only needed to spend on one. Adams has been solid. If he was paired with an experienced P4 starter at the other T, we would be in better shape.

Kelly is Kelly, and SEC is simply too tough for him to compete for a championship. It’ll be a great 10-year-run for him and his loved ones though.
