The lack of offense last night is almost entirely on the OL.

Ciron Black is horrible. I am sorry, but for a player that is supposedly first round talent, you'd think he'd play out there like he gave a damn.
The overall OL play, especially the tackles was pitiful. Time after time, UF rushed THREE players and still got past our OL without barely being touched, and people are hating on Jefferson. The sacks weren't his fault. If the Tackles are giving the DL a straight line to the QB, what do people expect?
Granted, UF's defense is great. My hat off to them, but LSU's OL performance was utterly embarrassing. Worst of all is that our first year starters are actually playing better than a 3rd year, 4th year, and 2nd year starter.
Straight pitiful, and if the players are ALL performing this badly, it goes straight to coaching and that's on Miles ,and more specifically STUDRAWA.

Bob, you are in another world

Ciron Black is the offensive version of LaRon Landry in terms of actually getting worse throughout his career...

"time after time they rushed 3" is incorrect. They rushed more than 3 every play the 1st half. Only rushed 3 just a few times in the 2nd half. Twice the speed rusher got pushed to the outside by Barksdale. Yes he could have done a better job but Jefferson should have stepped up in the pocket and thrown the ball. Only takes 1 DL rushing if the QB won't step up in the pocket.

Jefferson gets his share of blame. He either is not good at picking up the receivers or is too scared, but either way he's not going to make it in the SEC unless there's dramatic improvement.

no the lack of offense is on the coaching staff...play calling or lack of .....what happened to being creative in coming up with something Fla has not seen LSU run before Saturday night.???...Crowton can do better...LSU is better than that...better players, they deserve a chance to show what they can do...

I absolutely agree with this. Good post my brother. I hate these LSU retards that place the blame on the sacks on JJ. It is the O-Lines fault not JJ. You are supposed to PROTECT THE QB. If the the QB is not protected, it is the offensive lines fault. The only thing dumb JJ could have done was throw an INT, even though he threw 1. Jarrett Lee, however, would have thrown 7 INTs minimum last night. This is easily the best thread of the night.

Tigerskin, I saw Ciron get burned 3 or 4 times off the ball and Jefferson running for his life. Same was seen for Barksdale.
In the end, we had a critical drive, and on 3nd and long and 3rd and long our OTs can't even barely touch the guy before he's almost on Jeffeson.
The OL as a whole has utterly regressed and that is purely on coaching.

stopped there
you don't know what you are watching if you think that.

Jefferson's long strided drop puts him right in a rush lane for the DE. Coaches need to correct that issue.

you can only protect for so long. At some point, the QB has to cut to cord and let the ball go. When's the last QB we had with such poor production? Not percentages, but numbers.

ciron is a much better run blocker than he is in pass protection, the o line didnt play great but lay off ciron,

Lester, they were partially his fault. He needed to step up in the pocket a little quicker, but the OL protection by an ALL-SEC tackle and his counterpart on the line was pathetic. JJ is still in his drop back when the DL from UF are there.
His pocket presence was not there at all, and he may have saved one of the sacks, but by the end of them game he has no semblance of an OL.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
Even with Fla in prevent, we went 31 yds in 10 plays. 3.1 yds in a hurry up offense, are you effing kidding me???
THAT IS ALL ON THE QB, plain and simple

I am telling you, I just watched the replay. The "3 guys rushing" stuff was only on 3rd or 4th and very long. People keep repeating the same BS but it isn't true. Watch the tape. On those plays, Jefferson has to step up in the pocket.

No denying that JJ holds onto the ball too long and doesnt step up into the pocket. Also no denying that the OL is horrible in both pass protection and in creating a running game. There were a few dropped balls yesterday that hurt. So all players share the blame. I am more patient with JJ since he is very young and is good about taking care of the ball. But Ciron and Barksdale...
Posted on 10/11/09 at 7:36 pm to jledet
jledet, Ciron has sucked in all phases of the game this entire season. Your LT is supposed to be a solid pass blocker, since he's protecting the QBs blindside.
There were lots of factors that contributed to the poor output, JJ, Coaches, playcalling, but OL would've done it on its own despite those things because they couldn't block anything that moved. Ciron and Barksdale were both horrible.

no, they were all his fault
if that was Russell or Flynn LSU gets sacked once last night. These guys knew how to move in the pocket, even as younger players
shite, Marcus Randall knew how to move in the pocket, and thats pretty bad when you arent even on his level
