Also, I never said I played at LSU. Those were your words. Maybe I did, maybe I didnt. Lets just say I have walked a mile in hill's shoes, am qualified to speak on the RB position in length, but also admit I wont criticize other intricate techniques such as a lineman's footwork or a QB's read progression as I have never played those positions
None of that changes the fact that jumping in the air is a bad idea.

He leaps when the play is bottled up, and he wants an extra yard.

It isn't canonical football technique, but let's not make mountains out of molehills. The leap seems to be somewhat effective up til now, and I haven't ever seen a situation where I thought "Man, he could have picked up 20 more yards if only he hadn't lept.

I agree. I generally notice it when it's into a pack of defenders, not head up against a linebacker like some of these guys are insinuating .

Not making a mountain out of it, just was posting an observation.

Anyone else notice that Hill tends to leap at the end of runs? This usually gets him an extra one or two yards. Can't say Ive ever seen another back do that. Has anyone seen another RB employ this technique?

Hell, he did it once on the sideline against a DB in damn near open space if I recall anywhere near correctly.
