haven’t been more angerfrustratednervous than that moment in a long time
i truly thought the baseball gods hated us in that moment, as that would be the most ridiculous way to push a run across in a pitchers duel

Imagine being this guy. Still nit picking negatives after what we witnessed last night.
Didn’t this play set up Morgan for the second best play of the game? When I think of this game the only thing I remember is the walkoff and the Tre play at the dish.

By the strictest definition of “pitcher’s duel”, it would’ve actually been the almost perfect way to push a run across. Only one infield hit involved.
The very definition of manufacturing a run.

Except there was no WP/PB after the infield hit and SB in the 11th with 2 outs. Hurd walked the next batter, but it was still 1st and 2nd. I think the OP was mashing the details together. More than likely he was referencing the sequence that led to the play by Tre Morgan.

The inning started with a walk but the passed ball strikeout occurred in the same inning as the squeeze play.
The 8th inning was the only inning Wake Forest had a runner reach 3rd.

Not that it really matters, but the Tre Morgan play happened with one out.

The OP was mashing details together. The runner stealing 2nd after the infield hit happened in the 11th inning with 2 outs

It was a walk, sacrifice getting the runner to second, then the WP/PB on the strikeout advancing the runner to third.
