"Basically what the OP was trying to say is our players and our fans want this game more than yours."

Exactly. Im not saying I want LSU to lay down. Infact I hope LSU after getting there asses handed to them go on to run the table and win the SEC. This is WVU's oppurtunity to say to the entire NCAA.

I don't want any excuses from LSU...

I pretty much agree with OP's entire post. This game does mean much more to them than it does to us. There have been years when WV has had a team as good or better than ours. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them, and I really believe that talent alone COULD win this game for us (but actually, it'll be talent, coaching, big game experience, and our players will be focused).

On the OP's point of "nobody wanting them" or whatever, y'all shouldn't take the fact that no conference is showing interest as a personal slight, and instead, look at it from the financial aspects. If y'all were to join the SEC, the additional market (or relative lack thereof) that y'all bring in does not justify y'alls cut of the money split. For WV, you're a conference's worst nightmare. A good team that brings in no additional money. That sucks for y'all, but those are the facts. The lack of conference interest has nothing to do w/beer sales, y'all being "hillbillies", or couch burners, or whatever you want to call it. It's strictly dollars.

Not sure that I get your point. So WVU needs a charity win? The more I look at these teams, the clearer an LSU blowout of WVU becomes. I do not see the Mounties mounting much offense in this game.

LSU's offense is showing signs of life with the emergence of a credible passing game. Short of numerous unforced errors, I give the Mounties little chance of being in this game. This is not 2010.

Hopefully WVU doesn't score much because our kick coverage sux. How shitty would it be to lose the game on 5 kick offs returned for TDs?

Good luck with this. Hell even if we win you'll hear excuses as to why the score wasn't higher.

It's a big game for both teams. For LSU, going into the heart of the SEC schedule with a 4-0 record, including 3 wins against top 25 teams, would be huge. Tomorrow's game will be a dogfight. Can't wait.

Panzer, you've nailed it....with this caveat...I think the first three quarters will be a dogfight...the fourth quarter LSU will make like it's first president marching through Georgia (and South Carolina!!!!)...

I'll go back to my three possible scenairos of which scenairo 2 is the most likely and 3 is the least likely:

1 - Virginia Tech 2007 type blowout...caused by a lot of WVU turnovers

2 - Close game but LSU pulls away in the 2d half...i.e. Oregon and MSU games this year

3 - LSU does nothing but turn the ball over via fumbles and interceptions (long evening for LSU--hillbillies dancing in the street and the streets of Morgantown are aflame afterwards)

From a revenue standpoint WVU is already higher then Vandy, ole miss, miss st. and Missouri. WVU also finished 13th in total ncaa apparel sales. If WVU went to the SEC throw in your TV contracts plus add another 20,000 seats to our stadium and we would be a gold mine. I promiss you we would not have to leach off of the rest of the league. So IMHO it has absolutly nothing to do with money.

I think I heard all this same crap last year...about how bad you would beat us. If I recall, it was by less than a TD in your house at nigth. Just saying...

The final score was 20-14 last year.....last time I checked, touchdowns were worth 6 points, so, no, it was not by less than a TD. Thanks for playing, though.

if LSU loses this game odds are they are not good enough to win the SEC or NC

I agree of course that this is also a big game for WVU

All of this conference realignment BS. Apparently WVU has earned the respect of no one

It isn't about respect - it is about money
