re: The Hard Truth: Etling goes in 2nd Qtr of Wisconsin- we win

with a different head coach, it is likely neither Harris nor Etling are starters.
He probably would be a sufficient judge of talent and development to find a transfer somewhere who could improve our talent pool. Etling sensed that himself as a player looking at Harris' body of work.

What if it was 2nd half Etling? Do you still think we win?
Yes, I do. Like said above- most likely even if only for the 4th qtr. Constantly having trouble with the short pass has killed us.
But the receivers deserve some of the on-the-field blame, too. Too many drops. Just too many. Dameyune need to bust some arse, this week.

a hard truth, asserting an alternate path would've lead to a more fortuitous outcome can not be disproven. or proven.
I don't disagree. But the difference we DID see this past Saturday night cannot be denied. Etling was completing simple passes that Brandon wasn't.
And it pains me to say this because I like Brandon. Great kid; great representative for LSU. But he has had trouble. We can all argue about QB development under Miles- but for now, let's go with the hot hand.

Danny Etling did provide a spark to the offense but keep in mind that Jacksonville state game planned for Brandon Harris and stopping the run game. When Etling came in and started throwing the ball the Jacksonville defense was caught off guard but after half time they made some adjustments. Mississippi State will game plan for both QB. I hope Etling does provide a much needed spark to this offense and plays well and can lead LSU to the BCS playoffs. In all honesty this is what Brandon Harris needs. This will either light a fire under him to learn the offense and how to read defensive and compete or sit and soak expecting something to be handed to him.

I'm not sure if any of you noticed that blank stare in Harris's face when they showed him on the sideline. That was all I needed to see. And look, I get that the guy was upset that he was pulled. Did he show any signs of life or willingness to help this team? I didn't notice.
You're looking into it too much IMO

....but man- how sweet it was to see a wide open pass to A TIGHT END!! Maybe we should think about running that one again, before long....LOL

Etling goes 6 of 14 for 100 yards and throws an INT against JACKSONVILLE STATE, and you think this is the guy who beats a top 5 defense in the country?
Hilarious.
Hilarious.

Kinda remind you of JJ back in 2012 NC.

"If we would have started x, things would have been different!"
Nothing like a hypothetical scenario to make everyone feel better.
We've certainly been having a lot of those lately.
Anyone else ready to quit imagining victories against tough opponents and actually start winning? I know I am.

Hard to say as it didn't occur. That game wasn't like the McNeese game last year which cost LSU a 10th win at a 99+% probability.
