in July if you told me we would:
lose Mathieu, Faulk,Blue, the recievers to grades the linebackers to injury, 3 starting o-line, in addition to freshman corners and a new QB who has maybe 10 snaps in SEC play I would have thought, make that, i would have bet that we would have lost 4-5 games easy if not a complete disaster.
I am on record as saying coach Miles was a doofus ans an idiot. I was wrong. He's a helluva coach a great recruiter and doesn't crack when the pressure was insane. Well Done Coach!
Next year Mett will have a great o-line and new recievers in additon to Landry, OBj, Boone, Wright
The defense will be experienced and we should challenge again for the Crystal!

I said this last year... I'm keeping my head up though. It's wild how much can change from year to year. Who knows who works the hardest during the offseason.

We're not going to a NC. Our chance was last year to win it all. This team will be decimated with all the people leaving early and we'll have to break a lot of inexperience in again next year. Our schedule will probably be harder next year too...

So like we're never going to have another shot at the NC again? Last year was it?

Damn I guess I won't bother getting season tickets next here since deuce says the window has closed for LSU.

No, you should still get your tickets, just don't expect them to make it to the ncg. Enjoy it for what it is. Plus, in a few yrs, nobody's nc will mean much since it was won in the pre-playoff era.

Offense sounds good on paper, now let's talk defense. We're losing a LOT of talent

The future?

We hold the current longest streak of 8 win seasons (tied with Boise St.)
We just held a long home winning streak until Bama
We just held a long regular season winning streak until Bama
We played for the BCS National Championship 1 year ago
We are ranked in the top 10 currently

The present is very bright at LSU. Is it as bright as Bama? No, but it is very bright, as in brighter than every other team in the nation.

I dont ever *expect* LSU to go to the NCG. Who in the hell expected Notre Dame to be the only undefeated team this year? You realize how much goes into making it to the NCG during the course of a season? I think its a goal of school like LSu to make it to the championship every season and I certainly think the players set that as a goal and with our talent level we will be in the hunt and the discussions all off season about teams that could play in the NCG. I certainly think we have as good a shot as anyone else as we do just about every year.

This is silly. Pretty sure everyone still talks about their AP titles before the BCS era began. LSU still mentions 59.

Depends on who's returning. Monty is the only one that should leave for the NFL.

I don't think Simon, Reid, or Mingo should leave. They've shown that they aren't ready for the NFL yet.

Mintor had a great season, but he isn't ready yet either in my opinion.

Mingo is rated higher than Monty on several boards including Mel Kyper (who has them both top 5 picks). Mingo should absolutely leave.

Statements like this are completely ridiculous. Did the majority of the fanbase think we'd go to the BCSNC in 2011? Probably not. Results? 13-1 BCSNC appearance. Did a good portion of the fan base think we'd go this year? Probably so. Results? 10-2 with a likely Chicken sandwich bowl appearance.

It's really hard to predict when considering the draft, injuries, coaching changes, team chemistry, and the ever-important element of good fortune.

How often is Mel Kiper right?

Don't get me wrong, Mingo is an awesome player and will be a NFL starter one day. Our pressure on the QBs hasn't lived up to the hype in my humble opinion.

I'm saying no time soon. We'll have way too many question marks in plenty of positions next year. Plus, even with Mett's progression, our offense lacks any creativity. They've been incredibly inconsistent under Miles and that probably won't change.

Our schedule never puts us in a position to get an easier ride to the NC like Bama seems to conveniently have every year. We'll have to wait until the playoffs to get our chance.

Our 2013 schedule is shaping up to be much harder than 2012 too, so there is that.

There is to much upside for an NFL team not to take Mingo asap.

I'd imagine ND and UGA think their presents are pretty damn bright right now.
